I was watchng the NFL Combine again this morning (for the last time I hope), and I kept noticing DL #41 ... he moved so freaking well in the cone and other such drills that he kept catching my eye - but I couldn't see his name. They kept spotlighting #42 - Robison from Texas (who's not a sleeper and not a Bates type really).
So I found this site: http://www.theredzone.org/2007/draft/combine/index.asp Could be a different guy, but I think #41 was Jay Richardson. Even though he's from Ohio State, I didn't know about him. Anybody know about this guy? His 40 time looks slow, but he moves quick and smooth. Seemed more agile than this capsule says ... looked like a Bates-type DE. Reminded me a bit of Demarcus Ware. As far as other sleepers, Walter Thomas of course, Louis Leonard and Echols from Kansas State ... who else on Day 2? Last edited by BroncoBuff; 04-26-2007 at 07:18 PM.. |

I thought Echols had the best chance of getting to Denver in the 6th because of his friendship with Williams, and the fact that the Broncos brass met him at the funeral....

It was Richardson wearing 41 with the DE group.
Here is some game film for you. He's great at the coverage sack. http://ohiostate.rivals.com/video.as...ge&vidid=22762 |

5.06? That's a good time for a DT, but bad for a DE.

If we dont go with a DT in the first, I really think we take him in the third. Just for kicks we should also take that 375 pound giant, with a criminal record.
Is it just me, or does it seem that almost every Bates type DT is a criminal? I have not gone through them all, but the big ones, like Paul Soliai, the Tank, and the fatty (who I cant remember his name) all have character issues. I think that out-of-controll Twinkies consumption causes a person to loose thier moral center. |

Quentin Echols would be a very good late round pick. He's a quality guy who won't miss much of a beat when the starters get a rest.

Sleepers would be:
1. Joe Anoai 6-3 303 4.9 4.5 23 Georgia Tech DT 2. Joe Cohen 6-3 315 5.1 4.8 26 Florida DT 3. Dan Bazuin 6-3 266 4.7 4.7 25 Central Michigan DE 4. Jacob Ford 6-4 249 4.6 - 19 Central Arkansas DE 5. Greg Peterson 6-5 286 4.76 North Carolina Central DE All of these will be underselected to their value IMHO. Peterson would be an Awesome priority FA if he goes undrafted, but he has really climbed the boards recently and it would not surprise me if he does get drafted. |

I like bazuin quite a bit. Would not be upset at all if we grabbed him in round 2 or 3.

![]() 2. Cohen was drafted in the fourth by SF. 3. Greg Peterson was drafted By TB in the fifth as an UT. 4. Jacob Ford was drafted in the 6th by TEN. I think All four of these guys are going to be starters in two years. Great upside and athleticism with production at their schools. I still think Joe Anoai will be a very good player for someone and would love to have him as a UDFA. |
