1. Jamaal Anderson (Like it but can't see him falling this far)
2. Tanard Jackson (as a safety, not my pick but not too stupid) 3. Buster Davis (short, but plays like a big guy, only going to be a two down guy) 3. Dallas Baker (I don't understand this one at all - another big slow WR with great hands) Players picked later than Baker I like better: Bazuin, Abiamiri, Marten, Piscatelli, Mebrane, Black, Pitcock, Gattis, McBean, Siler, Free, Higins, Walter Thomas, DeOssie. |

Anderson makes it a great draft regardless, would like to see a DT in there somewhere too.

I like that Kiper thinks Anderson could slide to us, but outside of that, well, Denver always goes against Kiper's predictions. If Anderson slides I pray we take him, but I wouldn't be surprised if we pass either. If we take a round 1 DE though it'll be the only one we take.

I like Tanard, character concerns worry me though.
Dallas Baker sucks. |

Any insight on why Anderson is slipping? I've seen other mock drafts that have him going lower than initially predicted as well.

Anderson won't slip to 21.
However, we could realistically get him in the teens, and I think there are several potential trading partners between 11-18. We need fewer impact players, not an entire draft full - I see us trading up for the right guy. Or trading picks for an established player (especially a MLB). |

The more I sit in my chair and think, the more and more okay I'm with Denver waiting on a guy like Abiamiri at #56 who probably would have just as much as an impact as any other DE the Broncos could get at #21.
Let's say Kirwan is right and we take Lawrence Timmons at #21, get Abiamiri at #56, maybe a little James Marten at #70 and toss in your choice of BPA at WR/S/DT at #86 and you got yourself a recipe for a good draft. |

I think that's a valid feeling too, and completely possible. I just feel that out of Tim Crowder, Victor Abiamiri and Quentin Moses, one should be in that #56 area. Denver could package their two-thirds and get another second and make something happen too. Now, I don't want to lose more picks, but that's not a bad idea either.

I'll be pissed if we take another undersized LB in Timmons.
If Posluzsny is available and we have to go LB then draft him. He played great football last year and he was only one year removed from a bad knee injury. He'll be even better next year and he is a very instinctive LB. Naturally, Patrick Willis would be my #1 choice, but I don't think he's gonna make it to us. In fact, I personally think he'll be a top 10 pick. I know most Mock's have him falling to the 12-16 range... but he's a lot better prospect than Simms was last year and one could argue that he was just as good as Hawk. |

If Jamaal Anderson, Adam Carriker, and Anthony Spencer are all gone then I would go with a LB. But if either of these three are there we should take one (In that order)

I'll look for the website again...but remember this is only conjecture. Update: Consider the source... From PFT.com POSTED 2:45 p.m. EDT, April 16, 2007 WILL A BLUE-CHIPPER BE SAPPED? In 1995, defensive tackle Warren Sapp slid all the way to No. 12 in the draft in the wake of false rumors that he had failed a drug test. In 2007, there are fresh rumors making the rounds that a blue-chipper admitted during a league-conducted combine interview to experimentation with marijuana while in college. Though there's nothing wrong with an isolated youthful indiscretion (and, for the record, we never inhaled), the admission raises questions of whether the player in question is stoopid. In the NFL, a guy is regarded as a user only if pot is detected in his system or if he misses a test or if he's in the possession of marijuana (and/or a prosthetic pecker aimed at the production of a clean pee sample). On one hand, his honesty is refreshing. On the other hand, honesty might need to be ignored when the potential consequences are the millions of dollars in contract value that can be forever lost if a player plummets. Then again, we're not sure whether the player even made the admission, and we're trying to track down the truth. One league source says that two teams have told him that the admission was made, and that it appears in the transcript of the interview. Another team tells us that the transcript contains no such statement. For now, the story is either that the kid made the admission, or that someone is trying to smear him, presumably in the hopes that he'll fall. Or, by claiming that the transcript contains no admission of marijuana experimentation, someone could be trying to prop the player up, so that he won't slide. Regardless, each team is in a position to judge for themselves whether the rumor is true. As a league source tells us, every team has a copy of the taped interviews. http://www.profootballtalk.com/rumormill.htm Last edited by Traveler; 04-17-2007 at 09:34 AM.. |

Trade #21 to Miami for #60 (NE's pick) and a 1st next year (maybe an additional 3rd or 4th next year as well). Miami would have three of the top-40 picks this year to rebuild with. Trade #56 and #70 to Detroit for #34. Trade #60 to Buffalo for #74 and #92. Draft: #34- Charles Johnson #74- Quincy Black #86- Paul Soliai #92- Sabby Piscetelli/John Wendling/Josh Gattis We'd fill our 4 biggest needs with quality players, save some money by not having a first and go into next season with a ton of picks and cap room. I know it's probably too many moves and would never happen, but the values are roughly equal and I'd rather have the first next year. |
