Where did I say the troops were Democrats or Republicans?

I was talking about the legislators.

Please pray for the soldiers who are above all things our brothers and sisters. They have no color. They have no party affiliation. They are what we should be focused on being which is just Americans. The recent extension comes down hard because it didn't come from the NCO chain of command but the press.

Please pray for America. We are so blessed and yet in our selfishness, anger, and arrogance we don't really appreciate fully what we have or have any real sense of joy. People are angry about the smallest issues. We lack love, patience and the simplest of consideration. Integrity has a price on it.

I'm not expecting any good from this if nothing else getting called out for sentimentality or the smallest issue that a person can fault me for. Fine. You are perfect and I am still flawed. I know my flaws and failings. This isn't about my issues. This is about where are we going as a country.

Pray for America. Pray for peace. Don't pray for violence. Don't pray for vengeance. Don't pray for one thing over another. Just pray for peace.

A couple of years from now after you are done poking fun at my request remember that I did ask.
I'll drink to all that. Man, you should just come home. Sh1t ain't worth it. You made your money.

Point is, in my humble opinion, the partisan political commentary does not belong in this thread. There are plenty of other places to post divisive political remarks.

Peace. The price of peace isn't holding your tongue but knowing when to speak.

People don't listen anymore. They talk at you instead of with you. They beat you down rather than understand or comprehend anything. We attack first then listen. We are so self absorbed and arrogant.

We can listen by choice or once again wait until it is thrust on us. Why are we in Iraq? We didn't listen.

Why are we still in Iraq? Because some still don't listen, some still don't see, some are not willing to recognize they screwed up and that better to admit a mistake than to continue making the mistake in an effort to hide ones' mistakes.

Take care Brother!

Pray for peace.

What didn't we understand to have something like this become normal part of our daily life?

We didn't listen to the right plans to come in. We rushed into a conflict that has been ongoing for 8,000 years.

We are not listening to the right plans to get out. Our mistake is serious and if we do not treat all parties with respect another price will be paid. A simple "my bad" and packing our tents is as stupid as the short term thinking that dropped us into this place.

Because we are here we better make peace with the people in this region. What about the economic impact on America? What allies can we bring from this? What wins can we get from this?

A prayer for peace is the first step and if you don't pray have a drink and chill out. We are better than this. We are all better than this.

I'm going on a trail ride when I am done over here and I'll be riding the Rabbit ears for a of month driving cattle. I was going to hike the AT but this makes more sense to me right now.

Right now I wish people would be good to each other. We've got a long road ahead and if we don't cut the crap we'll cut our own throats...again. We ended up in Iraq because nobody listened. When are we going to get it right?

Ms. Orange I am waiting for the videos to come back from the shop. While I am waiting feel free to post your likeness, real or imagined, so we might all gaze upon your precious countenance.

My assumption is you are praying for a drink right now. No?

Surely. Things will work out hopefully, and you are right about rushing into other people's conflicts that have been going on for thousands of years. Unfortunately the people that send others to dangerous situations often don't have anything at stake themselves, so they wrap themselves in hype and symbolism. It's easy to preach patriotism for those who don't have loved ones in danger. And the question remains: what exactly has been accomplished? People are still dying, lives are still destroyed and no one is afraid of anyone else.

There's a driver license pic of me in the post your pic section...I look kinda mad but I'm really not. The flash went off in my eyes!

If we don't come together as one nation and put aside our differences we are going to continue to lose wars we should win, rush into wars we shouldn't start, react, over react and continue to miss the point.

A drink and/or a prayer. A simple request Mam.

I come here to talk about sports and even the most mundane issues turn into some kind remedial ethics class. We are no longer capable of listening, or discussion or even simple compassion.

Right now I am playing road dog and everywhere I go there is something burning or blowing up and yet despite this I think we are turning the tide. This week I travel down EFP alley where two friends of mine were cut in half. Next week I go south to where five Iraqis I had worked with were killed including a man who shared with me my first shot of Johnny Walker blue.

What kind of land mine is Iraq? Did it destroy us when we stepped on it or is it going to destroy us because we pulled our foot away too fast? We are in a most dangerous of situations and yet cannot talk to each other about the simplest of things. How many critical mistakes can we make and defy gravity?

Take time with your loved ones. The days are short and the evenings long. When we sleep, if blessed, we yet again dream.

Pray that America's leaders stop and listen at this urgent time.

I agree, it's crazy how everyone knows everything. Even guys who squeeked by high school science will lecture on global warming.....
At this point it ain't about right or wrong, it is about making sure you guys come back ok.

How are things going over there? I got to admit, ever since you started this thread whenever I hear about crazy **** over there I hope you are ok.

I was on a convoy last week in an ASV. Safest ride in Iraq.
http://www.janes.com/defence/land_fo...v_asv150.shtml

We should focus on what we are going to do AFTER Iraq. There isn't a person on this board who has a clue. We are still playing the blame game.
