Just bring the apple wood for the brats! Those were excellent. I swear the best food I have had at away cities are always at the tailgates.

I grew up in Glenwood! ![]() Answering your question, I usually just go online the second they go on sale. Waiting in line can have potential drawbacks. They might not let you line up overnight or they may have a lottery so the first people there aren't necessarily the first in line. Last edited by Bronco Billy; 04-16-2007 at 11:33 PM.. |

I priced some of the hotels in Chicago for 1 night - Saturday, November 24, 2007 - departing on Sunday, November 25. Most of the hotels are sold out around Soldier Field. Here's what's left in the city that's under $200 with distance to Soldier Field, price, and star rating from Expedia:
Best Western Grant Park (1 mile) $143 2 stars Travelodge Hotel Downtown (1/2 mile) $129 2 stars Ramada Inn Lake Shore (5 miles) $119 2 stars I wouldn't recommend heading too far west of this hotel!!! Skylark Motel (8 miles, by Midway Airport) $85 1.5 stars Country Inn and Suites (15 miles, by O'Hare) $93 3 stars Red Roof Inn Chicago Downtown (2 miles) $120 2 Stars 1.2 block from Magnificent Mile Howard Johnson Downtown (4 miles) $159 1.5 stars 1 miles to Magnificent Mile The next two are probably the closest to Soldier Field and still available Congress Plaza Hotel (1/2 mile) $179 Old hotel on Michigan Avenue Hilton Chicago - Michigan Avenue (1/2 mile to Soldier Field) $439 Ever other hotel downtown seems to be over $250 /night. There are plenty of hotels in the 'burbs under $100. If you choose the 'burbs I recommend Oak Brook, Lisle, Lombard. It's 12 miles from downtown and is a nice area (area residents include Frank Thomas, Nomar, Jeff Sluman, Magglio, etc.) They have a couple nice malls and plenty of places to eat/drink. Plus, it's not far from our condo - in case of emergency. |

I too big of a california p***Y to go. Game was at the wrong time (like the x mas eve game in SD) for us to go being near Thanksgiving and all. Wife and I chose the Packers game. Can u believe she is from the South side and roots for the Packers? That is worse than someone from Chicago rooting for the Broncos.

Actually, there are more Packer fans in Chicago than you would think - which probably partially adds to the rivalry. Oh yeah, I almost forgot, we have a Broncos bar in Chicago!!! Just follow the link! http://www.chicagobronconation.com/B...ag_Article.pdf |

Your number of posts is now going to grow dramatically. But look at the bright side. Julie will always know where to find you. On the Mane. Last year I filled the trash can by the computer a few times (beer cans) trying to coordinate things. In Bronco Billy we trust.

Thanks, I thought of that, but she has people "working on Southwest" now that are still there. I'm not sure it will ever happen - but I'll kepp my hopes up for her. I think she's embarrassed that I'm tring to help her, so I'm staying low.

Glad you decided to check this place out! It really is cool that you basically "started" the only Bronco bar in Chicago!!! BTW, I just replied to your email, "Elway". |

ChicagoBroncoNation.com has approx. 30 interested in tailgating right now! I know it's early but if everyone actually did come, we already have 45 - 50 people including us. Not too bad for a Midwest road game!
Maybe we should all just park on the Dan Ryan and turn Chicago into Woodstock!!! Hopefully, we'll get more people!I remember something Ol Number 7 told me in St. Louis, "I just hope Meck would approve (of this tailgate)." I think by football season, I'll finally truly appreciate this peril of wisdom! |

Bronco Billy, ol number 7, MileHiMike,
Looks like there is another road trip in my future. Only questions are where do we find bear meat and how to cook it? |

We have a group of us roadtripping for the game-probably 10-15 of us and are definitely wanting to tailgate. We'll be loading up the van with as many
tailgating supplies as we can fit in before we leave Denver. If anyone knows of the best way to get tickets (besides getting online the minute they go on sale and praying we get through) please let me know. We'll be looking forward tailgating with everyone before the game. |
