JaMarcus Russell By Tom Marino
Scout.com
Posted Apr 10, 2007

Scout.com NFL Expert breaks down the biggest needs for every NFL team, and he shows how each team might address those needs through the draft.

Yesterday, Tom Marino went through all seven rounds in his Mock Draft. Today, he breaks down each teams' biggest needs and shows how they might be addressed in the NFL Draft later this month.

Teams are listed alphabetically. To show where each pick comes from, please check out the full Mock Draft by round.

Arizona Cardinals

Top Needs Marino's Take
Offensive Line Haven't run the ball successfully since O.J. Anderson. Underachieving Leonard Davis exit via free agency hurts.
Running Back Edgerrin James is nearing the end of a great career. New blood is needed to jump start offense
Cornerback Free agent addition Roderick Hood is a journeyman performer
Safety Wilson is at the top of his game. Free Agent addition Holt is a steady workmen like player.

Arizona Cardinal Draft Projection:

Rnd Player POS College
1 Adrian Peterson RB Oklahoma
2 Doug Free OT No Illinois
3 John Wendling S Wyoming
4 Yamon Figurs WR Kansas St
5 Tala Esera OG Hawaii
7 C.J. Ah You DE Oklahoma

Atlanta Falcons

Top Needs Marino's Take
Safety Landry starts about the time he arrives at baggage claim. Age has caught up to Milloy.
Wide Receiver A healthy Joe Horn will improve this sub par group. Former top round selections White & Jenkins have been disappointing
Offensive Tackle Left tackle is a 14 year vet and isn't going to get better
Running back Little man Dunn is now in 11th year. Norwood showed flashes as a rookie
Kicker The great Morten Andersen next next NFL stop is Canton, Ohio

Atlanta Falcon Draft Projection:

Rnd Player POS College
1 LaRon Landry S LSU
2 Kenny Irons RB Auburn
2 Sidney Rice WR So Carolina
3 Dustin Fry OC Clemson
4 Michael Johnson S Arizona
4 Kenny Scott CB Georgia Tech
4 Marshal Yanda OG Iowa
5 Daymeion Hughes CB California
6 Jerramy Scott WR Michigan St
7 Jesse Ainsworth KS Arizona St

Baltimore Ravens

Top Needs Marino's Take
Linebacker Adalius Thomas cannot be replaced, although Spencer has a real chance to develop into something special.
Offensive line Ogden talking retirement. Not much depth in this group.
Wide Receiver Finding a replacement for 11 year veteran Derrick Mason is on the agenda.
Running back Veteran (33) Anderson, and disappointing Musa Smith back up newly acquired McGahee

Baltimore Raven Draft Projection

Rnd Player POS College
1 Anthony Spencer DE Purdue
2 Craig Davis WR LSU
4 Enoka Lucas OC Oregon
4 Darius Walker RB Notre Dame
5 Tyler Palko QB Pittsburgh
5 Kolby Smith RB Louisville
6 Robert Turner OG New Mexico
6 Dashon Goldson CB Washington

Buffalo Bills

Top Needs Marino's Take
Cornerback Small market Bills could not match the 49ers deal for the inconsistent Clements.
Linebacker Starters Fletcher & Spikes were set adrift with no suitable replacement on current roster.
Running Back McGahee departure left Bills bankrupt at this critical offensive position. Anthony Thomas is at best a role player.
Wide Receiver Price is no longer a factor. Rising Star Lee Evans could use some support.

Buffalo Bills Draft Projection

Rnd Player POS College
1 Patrick Willis LB Ole Miss
2 Tarell Brown CB Texas
3 Chris Henry RB Arizona
3 Tanard Jackson CB Syracuse
4 Zach DeOssie LB Brown
6 Kelvin Smith LB Syracuse
7 Jon Cornish RB Kansas
7 Darius Vinnett CB Arkansas

Carolina Panthers

Top Needs Marino's Take
Tight End Gaines is an asset at the POA, but is not a true vertical threat in the passing game.
Quarterback Another injury to the inconsistent Delhomme would be devastating to the Panthers.
Safety 11 year veteran Minter announced his retirement at the end of the 2007 season.
Linebacker Oft-injured Morgan can no longer be counted on over the long haul.

Carolina Panther Draft Projection:

Rnd Player POS College
1 Greg Olsen TE Miami
2 Brandon Jackson RB Nebraska
3 Drew Stanton QB Michigan State
4 Eric Weddle CB Utah
5 Marvin White S TCU
6 Uche Nwaneri OG Purdue
7 Chris Leak QB Florida

Chicago Bears

Top Needs Marino's Take
Linebacker Will backer Briggs needs a reality check. Sam Backer Hillenmeyer is a smart journeymen player. Little depth here.
Safety Free agent addition Archuletta is a liability in coverage. Injury to Brown was a major blow to Bears.
Running Back Exit Thomas Jones, enter ball control, north/south runner Tony Hunt.
Quarterback Jordan Palmer has really made strides over the past two seasons.
Wide Receiver Like Bradley's potential, but little else behind starters Muhammad and Berrian.

Chicago Bear Draft Projection:

Rnd Player POS College
1 Tony Hunt RB Penn State
2 Michael Griffin S Texas
3 Jordan Palmer QB UTEP
4 Mason Crosby K Colorado
5 Larry Birdine DE Oklahoma
7 Jon Holland WR Louisiana Tech
7 Steve Dildine LB Washington St

Cincinnati Bengals

Top Needs Marino's Take
Linebacker Possible career ending injury to Pollack, Thurman suspension, and Simmons release spells trouble for Bengals.
Offensive Line Future replacement for veteran Anderson is a must. Little help in a back up role.
Safety SS Dexter Jackson is just a guy at this stage. Back ups are not going to make people forget Tommy Casanova.
Defensive Tackle Little help behind vets Thornton and Adams.

Cincinnati Bengal Draft Projection:

Rnd Player POS College
1 Chris Houston CB Arkansas
2 Ryan Harris OT Notre Dame
4 Julius Wilson OG UAB
5 DeShawn Wynn RB Florida
6 Doug Datish OC Ohio State
7 Prescott Burgess LB Michigan
7 Craig Dahl S No Dakota St

Cleveland Browns

Top Needs Marino's Take
Offensive Line Browns had a difficult time running the ball and protecting the QB. Key free agent Bentley injury really set program back.
Quarterback Fry, Anderson, and Dorsey Help please!!!
Running Back Vet Lewis offers stability. Wright and Harrison bring nothing to the table.
Wide Receiver Northcutt defection weakens an already marginal receiving group.

Cleveland Brown Draft Projection

Rnd Player POS College
1 JaMarcus Russell QB LSU
2 Antonio Pittman RB Ohio State
3 Tony Ugoh OT Arkansas
4 Troy Smith QB Ohio St
5 Mansfield Wrotto OG Georgia Tech
6 David Patterson DT Ohio St
7 Mike Mason WR Tennessee St

Dallas Cowboys

Top Needs Marino's Take
Wide Receiver Both starters are 12 year veterans. Aside from Clayton, the group is at most marginal.
Safety If healthy, free agent addition Hamlin should greatly improve Cowboys at this critical position.
Quarterback Not 100% sold on Romo. Brad Johnson is done. Matt Baker was a marginal college QB.
Cornerback Back up Aaron Glenn is a 14 year veteran. Back up help is a must at this critical position.

Dallas Cowboy Draft Projection:

Rnd Player POS College
1 Dwayne Bowe WR LSU
2 Manuel Ramirez OG Texas Tech
3 Le'Ron McClain FB Alabama
4 Anthony Arline CB Baylor
5 Ryan Moore WR Miami
6 Gabe Hall OG Texas Tech
7 Walter Thomas DT NWMCC
7 Marvin Mitchell LB Tennessee
7 Jonny Harline TE BYU

Denver Broncos

Top Needs Marino's Take
Defensive Line Need to upgrade this group significantly. Three former Browns lead the way here. Enough said.
Cornerback Bailey is league's best corner. Former Rams and Lion Bly adds veteran support. Thin beyond starters.
Wide Receiver Rod Smith will be 37 at the start of mini camp. Marshall showed some real potential. Stokley if healthy will lend support.
Linebacker Wilson appears to be at the end of the line. Williams is a rising star; rest of the group is adequate

1 Aaron Ross CB Texas
2 Jay Moore DE Nebraska
3 Turk McBride DT Tennessee
3 DaMarcus Tyler DT NC State
6 H.B. Blades LB Pittsburgh
6 Chris Davis WR Florida St
7 Allen Barbre OG Missouri Southern

Detroit Lions

Top Needs Marino's Take
Offensive Line Foster & Mulitalo should improve Lions in this area.
Quarterback Martz is the best in the game at developing young QB's, Trent Edwards is right up his ally.
Tight End Block first TE's Miller and Pudwell are great fits for Lion's offense
Fullback A suitable replacement for long time blocking back Schlesinger must be found.

Detroit Lion Draft Projection:

Rnd Player POS College
1 Joe Thomas OT Wisconsin
2 Trent Edwards QB Stanford
3 Zach Miller TE Arizona St
4 Josh Beekman OG Boston College
5 Gerald Alexander CB Boise St
5 Laurent Robinson WR Illinois St
5 Cory Anderson FB Tennessee
5 Anthony Pudewell TE Nevada
7 Drew Mormino OC Central Michigan

Green Bay Packers

Top Needs Marino's Take
Wide Receiver Ginn would give the Pack a legit vertical threat.
Running Back A healthy Ahman Green will be missed. Booker would give club a player excellent 3rd down potential.
Defensive End Abiamiri is a better athlete, then a football player but should develop.
Cornerback Can never have enough players at this critical position.

Green Bay Packer Draft Projection

Rnd Player POS College
1 Ted Ginn WR Ohio St
2 Lorenzo Booker RB Florida St
3 Victor Abiamiri DE Notre Dame
4 Jacoby Jones WR Lane
5 Corey Graham CB New Hampshire
6 Abe Brown LB Louisville
7 Mark Zalewski LB Wisconsin
7 Matt Herian TE Nebraska
7 David Beverly CB Idaho St

Houston Texans

Top Needs Marino's Take
Offensive Line How many times was David Carr sacked during his 5 year career?
Safety Both starters are 8 men in the box type. Need for a safety to play in the deep third.
Defensive Tackle Travis Johnson and a bunch of journeymen performers.
Running Back A healthy Ahman Green and surprising Dayne should be able to see you through a season.

Houston Texan Draft Projection:

1 Levi Brown OT Penn State
3 Fred Bennett S So Carolina
4 Aundrae Allison WR East Carolina
5 Timmy Duckworth OG Auburn
6 Patrick Ghee S Wake Forest

Indianapolis Colt Draft Projection

Rnd Player POS College

Jacksonville Jaguars

Top Needs Marino's Take
Safety Darius is nearing the end or a long outstanding career.
Linebacker Solid group with little depth.
Wide Receiver Northcutt gives unit some dimension and versatility.

1 Paul Posluszny LB Penn St
2 Ray McDonald DT Florida
3 Scott Chandler TE Iowa
4 Dallas Baker WR Florida
5 Earl Everett LB Florida

1 Ben Grubbs OG Auburn
2 Tim Crowder DE Texas
3 John Higgins WR UTEP
5 Quinn Pitcock DT Ohio St
6 Sam Olajubutu LB Arkansas
6 Antwan Barnes LB Florida International
7 Thomas Clayton RB Kansas St

Miami Dolphins

Top Needs Marino's Take
Cornerback Re-tread corners Goodman and Allen are steady but not shut down performers
Offensive Tackle It's time for Carey to step up. Shelton is not NFL standard at the L-OT position
Linebacker 12 year vet Thomas has played a lot of football, but is nearing the end of the line
Tight End A more complete TE is essential for newly installed offensive system
Wide Receiver Dolphins are very thin on the outside.

Miami Dolphin Draft Projection:

2 Buster Davis LB Florida St
3 Ben Patrick TE Delaware
4 James Marten OT Boston College
6 Tra Battle CB Georgia
7 Michael Jones OG Iowa
7 Jon Davis WR Iowa St

Minnesota Vikings

Top Needs Marino's Take
Quarterback Like Jackson's playing potential, but Childress and Vikings need to show progress in 07.
Wide Receiver What a difference a year makes. Solid 05 group went into tank in 06.
Cornerback Little depth behind steady veteran starters.
Defensive End Third year pro Udeze was a disappointment in 06. Still believe James could be something special.

Minnesota Viking Draft Projection:

Rnd Player POS College
1 Brady Quinn QB Notre Dame
2 Steve Smith WR USC
3 Josh Wilson CB Maryland
4 Quentin Moses DE Georgia
5 Noland Burchette DE Virginia Tech
6 Quincy Black LB New Mexico
7 Gary Russell RB Minnesota

New England Patriots

Top Needs Marino's Take
Safety Harrison can no longer be counted upon. Wilson and Hawkins are concerted corners. Pats will address problem early.
Linebacker Bruschi and Vrabel have a combined 23 years of service and have slowed in recent years.
Cornerback Not critical, but Pats will look to upgrade position further.
Wide Receiver Pats did a great job of addressing this major problem via free agency.

New England Patriot Draft Projection:

Rnd Player POS College
1 Reggie Nelson S Florida
1 Joe Staley OT Central Michigan
3 Adam Podlesh P Maryland
4 Stephen Nicholas LB So Florida
5 Matt King LB Maine
6 Michael Allen TE Whitworth
6 Cameron Stephenson OG Rutgers
6 Ndukwe Chinedum S Notre Dame
6 Brannon Condren S Troy St
7 David Ball WR New Hampshire

New Orleans Saints

Top Needs Marino's Take
Linebacker An infusion of young talented players at this critical position is essential.
Safety Like starters, but there is little in the way of depth at the position.
Tight End Saints would like to develop a home grown player at this position.
Wide Receiver Loss of team leader Joe Horn will be felt. Very serviceable but unspectacular group of pass catchers.

New Orleans Saint Draft Projection:

Rnd Player POS College
1 Jon Beason LB Miami
2 Sabby Piscitelli S Oregon St
3 Martrez Milner TE Georgia
4 Jay Alford DT Penn St
4 Roderick Rogers S Wisconsin
4 Maurice Price WR Charleston So
5 Michael Coe CB Alabama St
6 Kevin Boss TE Western Oregon
7 Justin Medlock K UCLA

New York Giants

Top Needs Marino's Take
Running Back Barber's retirement will be felt both on and off the field.
Cornerback Giants are both old and slow at this critical position.
Wide Receiver Toomer nearing the end. Little quality behind the immature Burress
Linebacker Don't believe free agent acquisition Mitchell is the answer at Sam.

Rnd Player POS College
1 Marshawn Lynch RB California

3 Paul Williams WR Fresno St
4 Derek Landri DT Notre Dame
5 Daren Stone S Maine
6 Clark Harris TE Rutgers
7 Nick Folk KS Arizona
7 Jeremy Clark DT Alabama

New York Jets

Top Needs Marino's Take
Running Back Jones should give rookie surprise Washington needed support. One-back Leonard is a great fit for Jets type of offense.
Wide Receiver Cotchery is more of a 3rd. Little in the way of back up back up help.
Linebacker Will backer Barton is a steady journeymen player.
Safety Support for steady inside deep defenders is something to think about.

New York Jet Draft Projection:

Rnd Player POS College
1 Lawrence Timmons LB Florida St
2 Anthony Gonzalez WR Ohio State
3 Lamarr Woodley DE Michigan
5 D'Juan Woods WR Oklahoma St
2 Brian Leonard RB Rutgers
6 Herbert Taylor OT TCU

Oakland Raiders

Top Needs Marino's Take
Quarterback They flat out don't have one, which means they could still elevate Russell into the #1 spot.
Offensive Line Offensive line was a total embarrassment in 2006. Plenty of help is necessary in order to shore up offense.
Wide Receiver Calvin Johnson is simply the best offensive player to come out of college football in 25 years.
Running back Oft injured Jordan has been a disappointment. Rhodes is a dependable back up.

Oakland Raider Draft Projection:

Rnd Player POS College
1 Calvin Johnson WR Georgia Tech
2 Justin Blalock OT Texas

3 Isaiah Stanback QB Washington
4 Rory Johnson LB Ole Miss

5 Chris Denman OT Fresno St
6 Mario Henderson OT Florida St
7 Nuu Tafisi LB California
7 Matt Gutierrez QB Idaho St

Philadelphia Eagles

Top Needs Marino's Take
Defensive Tackle Bunkley showed little in his rookie season. Reager, who was brought in from Indy, offers solid support.
Linebacker Vet Trotter doing it with on smarts and experience.
Running back Moats needs to step up. Eagles could wait on Bush who could pay big dividends down the road. Westbrook is a good one.
Safety Dawkins is a solid 12 year vet, but time is running out

Philadelphia Eagle Draft Projection:

Rnd Player POS College
1 Alan Branch DT Michigan
2 David Harris LB Michigan
3 Michael Bush RB Louisville
5 Keith Jackson DT Arkansas
6 Joe Cohen DT Florida
7 Alonzo Coleman RB Hampton

Pittsburgh Steelers

Top Needs Marino's Take
Cornerback Darrelle Revis is a no-brainer at a position of concern.
Linebacker Penn State's Shaw would lend a hand on teams while developing as an outside rusher.
Center Kalil is college football's best OC. Former Golden Domer Mahan was acquired via free agency in 07.
Running Back Underrated McGill is the Steelers' type of hard running ball control type back.

Pittsburgh Steeler Draft Projection:

Rnd Player POS College
1 Darrelle Revis CB Pittsburgh
2 Ryan Kalil OC USC
3 Courtney Taylor WR Auburn
4 Tim Shaw LB Penn St
4 Andy Alleman OG Akron

5 Victor DeGrate DE Oklahoma St
6 Thaddeus Washington LB Colorado
7 Chansi Stuckey WR Clemson

San Diego Chargers

Top Needs Marino's Take
Wide Receiver Former college back up and free agent Parker sure looked like one in playoff loss to Patriots.
Safety Steady McCree has made many stops over his career. Former Packer Jue is a middle of the pack strong safety.
Linebacker Steve Foley, Randall Godfrey and Donnie Edwards will need to be addressed at some point.

San Diego Charger Draft Projection:

Rnd Player POS College
1 Dwayne Jarrett WR USC
2 Aaron Rouse S Virginia Tech
3 Leroy Harris OC NC State
3 Stewart Bradley LB Nebraska
4 Brandon Mebane DT California
5 Ryan McBean DT Oklahoma St
5 Juwan Simpson LB Alabama
7 Kevin Payne S Louisiana-Monroe

San Francisco 49ers

Top Needs Marino's Take
Defensive End The great Bryant Young has been in the trenches for 14 seasons.
Defensive Tackle A big run stopper is always in demand.
Linebacker Manny Lawson is a developing star supported by journeymen performers.
Wide Receiver 49ers hope Lelie can become team's vertical threat.

San Francisco 49er Draft Projection:

Rnd Player POS College
1 Adam Carriker DE Nebraska
2 Justin Harrell DT Tennessee
3 David Clowney WR Virginia Tech
3 A.J. Davis CB NC State
4 Michael Okwo LB Stanford
4 Ryan Smith CB Florida
4 Charles Johnson DE Georgia
4 Marcus Thomas DT Florida
5 Dallas Sartz LB USC
6 Joe Newton TE Oregon St

Seattle Seahawks

Top Needs Marino's Take
Tight End Stevens departure was necessary but will be felt on the field.
Safety Grant and hatchet man Russell were brought in to lend support at the position. Boulware has disappointed
Quarterback Wouldn't want my job to depend on either Wallace or Greene.
Tackle Lack of depth is a problem at both tackle positions. Locklear is a natural OG.

Seattle Seahawk Draft Projection:

Rnd Player POS College
2 Jason Hill WR Washington St
3 Matt Spaeth TE Minnesota
4 Brandon Harrison S Stanford
5 Zach Catanese LB Arizona St
6 Travarous Bain CB Hampton
6 Cody Boyd TE Washington St
7 Deandre Jackson CB Iowa St

St. Louis Rams

Top Needs Marino's Take
Defensive Tackle You can't win if you can't stop the run. Rams are fooling themselves if they think Kennedy is the answer.
Linebacker The names Chillar, McGarigle, and Alston don't strike fear into Rams opponents.
Cornerback Rams will miss the underrated Fisher at corner. Bartell has all the numbers but is he a football player?
Defensive End Vet James Hall was brought on board to support one of the game's top performers in 10 year vet Leonard Little.

St. Louis Ram Draft Projections:

Rnd Player POS College
1 Amobi Okoye DT Louisville
2 Ikaika Alama-Francis DE Hawaii
3 John Beck QB BYU
4 David Jones CB Wingate
5 Nate Harris LB Louisville
6 Dan Santucci OG Notre Dame
7 Daniel Bazuin DE Central Michigan
7 Kyle Shotwell LB Cal Poly
7 Andrew Carnahan OT Arizona St

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Top Needs Marino's Take
Defensive End Rice enters his 12th season, while newly acquired Kevin Carter enters his 13th season.
Quarterback Newly acquired Garcia is 37. Wouldn't bet on the the rest.
Cornerback Starters Kelly and Barber have 21 years of experience between them, and both appear to have lost a step
Linebacker Quarles and Brooks have 25 years of service and club needs to think of the future at some point

Tampa Bay Buccaneer Draft Projection:

Rnd Player POS College
1 Gaines Adams DE Clemson
2 Jarvis Moss DE Florida
2 Kevin Kolb QB Houston
3 Anthony Waters LB Clemson
4 Josh Gattis S Wake Forest
5 Alan Ball CB Illinois U
7 Sam Hollenbach QB Maryland
7 Tony Taylor LB Georgia
7 Geoff Pope CB Howard

Tennessee Titans

Top Needs Marino's Take
Wide Receiver 2006 acquisition David Givens was injured & a major disappointment. Loss of Drew Bennett and Bobby Wade via free agency impacts offense.
Defensive Tackle Haynesworth may have worn out his welcome. Stark is a developing star, but little support in reserve after Smith defection
Guard Olson and Stewart are blue collar all the way. Back up help is essential
Running back Not a big fan of Lendale White. Ganther and Moore don't bring fear to anyone.

Tennessee Titan Draft Projection:

Rnd Player POS College
1 Robert Meachem WR Tennessee
2 Jonathan Wade CB Tennessee
3 Brandon Frye OT Virginia Tech
4 Bo Smith CB Weber St
4 Jackie Battle RB Houston
5 Paul Soliai DT Utah
6 Kenneth Darby RB Alabama
6 Leron Howard DE Arizona St
6 C.J. Wilson CB Baylor
7 Derek Schouman FB Boise St

Washington Redskins

Top Needs Marino's Take
Quarterback Jason Campbell has at best back up potential. Brunell is at the end of the line, and Collins is the guy wearing the baseball cap on the sidelines.
Cornerback Springs enters his 11th season, Smoot played poorly in 06 for Vikings. Rogers is a developing player.
Defensive End Age is fast catching up to veteran Daniels. Little help in reserve.
Linebacker Skins hope Rocky McIntosh can make the strides that were expected of him as a rookie. Fletcher has lost a step, but still a playmaker.

Washington Redskin Draft Projection

Rnd Player POS College
1 Jamaal Anderson DE Arkansas
5 Justin Durant LB Hampton
6 Ramonce Taylor RB Texas College
6 Rhema McKnight WR Notre Dame
7 John Bowie CB Cincinnati

What a ****ing idiot. Anyone who has Denver taking a corner on the first day, let alone the 1st round should not be drawing a check for his opinions.

But Herc .... Slap and several others say take the best available player. Don't you agree? If it's a cornerback, then it's a cornerback.

Why would you inject a crass factor like "need" into a simple "best available player" exercise?

Denver will not be taking a corner.

There is way too much money tied up in that position already.

Dom Foxworth is more than adequate in the nickel.

Exactly. You don't burn a 1st at a position when you have the best corner in the league and an upper echelon corner on the other side. Foxworth and Paymah are more than adequate backups who are probably better 3rd and 4th corners than what 80% of the league has at the same spots.

Seeing as though he named many in these groupings, I think he forgot to name a wide receiver...

He has Nelson, BRANCH, Spencer, Moss, etc being taken after us in favor of a CB that won't even start let alone be higher then #4 on the depth chart. He is a ****ing idiot.

1 Aaron Ross CB Texas- I agree with Herc. This would be nuts. That isn't to say that Ross isnt deserving of the No. 21 pick in the pure abstract, but since I think very little of the Best Player Available theory, I don't really care about the abstract. We are extremely strong with the starting two and I think our depth is also very good. Foxworth is an very good nickel and Paymah/Cox are very solid for dime backs.
2 Jay Moore DE Nebraska- Reach.
3 Turk McBride DT Tennessee- Too small and not strong enough at the POA, bad system fit.
3 DaMarcus Tyler DT NC State- Very good system fit. Probably will not be here however. Some laziness issues. He isn't going to rush the passer but thats not what Bates asks of his DTs anyway. He'd do a nice job controlling the A and B gap on one side.
6 H.B. Blades LB Pittsburgh- Instincts are outstanding. He does a very good job preparing for opponents. His build sucks and his speed sucks, however.
6 Chris Davis WR Florida St- Not bad here.
7 Allen Barbre OG Missouri Southern- We need another developmental OT more than a developmental OG.

Another season without a blue-chipper on the D-line is another failure.

We got as far as we could with that concoction, and it gave way in the AFC Championship game when the Steelers decided never to throw the ball at Champ.

Funny, two months ago I was really hoping that we would draft Aaron Ross, but in the 2nd round. Is stock has sky rocketed! He won't be available at 21 on draft day so taking him there won't be a concern.

Like Jack said, passing on the likes of Moss, Spencer, Nelson, and especially Branch would be criminal! Any of those four would be immediate starters and big contributors to our defense. I still think we use our late 3rd to move up 5-7 spots to go after a guy like Willis, Okoye, Carriker, or Landry should any of them slide.

Ross isn't even a value player at 21 regardless of the fact there's no need for him whilst Jay Moore is a major reach at 56. Overall that's one **** projection.

Not impressed with that piece of work. But I guess it hard to have a feel for all 32 teams.

Its funny how he said Defensive Liine is our biggest need yet still takes a CB in round one. And how we have two probowl CBs yet we take a 1st round CB

BAP among a range of positions on day one is fine with me. But I think the range of positions this year does not include CB. The range of positions this year I think should be OT, LB, DT, S, WR, OG. No order to it, just that range. Grab one of the top five OT, LB, S on day one and I'll be happy.

They went at Champ plenty, and had success. Elvis can hold up as a speed DE I think, so maybe that is not such a huge need. DT may be the big deal on the DL, and LB and S in the passing game may be what the team needs. DT seems to be a big deal right now. Maybe Carriker can be the missing piece of the puzzle, a lot of people see him as a disruptive kind of player that could compliment Elvis well. OT is a big need to me.

I agree. This guy is an idiot. I know you all don't want to hear about the Chiefs but when a guy says "Brian Waters, he's just a guy" he doesn't know what the hell he is talking about. Sorry Tom Marino, I didn't realize a 3 time pro bowler is "just a guy". He also had alot of players' positions mixed up such as when he listed 300+ pound Antonio Johnson as a DE prospect for the Colts and he listed CB Fred Bennett as a safety. I could do a better job than this dumbass.

Denver Bronco Draft Projection

Rnd Player POS College
1 Aaron Ross CB Texas
2 Jay Moore DE Nebraska
3 Turk McBride DT Tennessee
3 DaMarcus Tyler DT NC State
6 H.B. Blades LB Pittsburgh
6 Chris Davis WR Florida St
7 Allen Barbre OG Missouri Southern

Aside from getting good value on Tyler in the late 3rd, this is about as bad a draft scenario as I can imagine for the Broncos.
