RIP Mr. Robinson. You turned many young guys into men. You are a credit to both football and the human race.

I loved that line about his motivating concept: He coached his players as if they were going to marry his daughter. In our "Win at all costs" culture, that's nice to hear. I'm sure he's left many proteges in his wake. I remember first hearing about Robinson when James Harris came to the Rams and always talked about how much Eddie had done for him. He did more than just make football players. RIP, Eddie.

Footnote: The longest pass I've ever seen thrown in a game was thrown by James Harris in the L.A. Colisseum, and I've already seen Cutler beat it.

A truly great man. More than 200 of his players went on to play in the NFL. You could talk for an hour about Eddie Robinson's accomplishments and barely scratch the surface.

A one of a kind. A sad loss to our nation and college football.

I heard he had Bear Bryant's autograph in his office and vise versa. Had to make sandwiches because of Jim Crow laws.

He even taught his players table ettiquet, how to dress properly, and speak properly. As great a coach as he was, he was a greater man.
