Default Offensive rankings Pre-draft

Obviously opinions will vary. But here's mine:

OFFENSE: Schemes aren't the same, so some positions, like FB, H-back, TE are tough to rank

QB= Rivers, Cutler, Huard, Walters
RB= LT, LJ, Henry, Jordan
RB2= Turner, Rhodes, Bell, Bennett
WR= Walker, Moss, Jackson, Kennison
WR2= Porter, Marshall, E. Parker, S. Parker
WR3= Curry, Stokley, Floyd, Hall
TE= Gates, Gonzalez, Scheffler, Anderson (recieving then blocking)
TE2= Graham, Manumaleuna, Dunn, Williams (blocking then recieiving)
FB= Neal, K. Wilson (H-back), Griffin, K. Johnson
LT= McNeil, Lepsis, Sims, McIntosh
LG= Dielman, Waters, Hamilton, Hulsey?
C= Nalen, Hardwick, Groves, Wiegman
RG= Shields, Goff, Carlisle, Boothe
RT= Pears, Gallery, Welbourne, Olivea,

I started doing the defense but with the difference between the 3-4 and the 4-3, too many positions don't line up.

Blast away.

You missed Lepsis at LT and at this point, Denver's RG spot should be left open.

I'd say not half bad coming from a rival fan.

Is Jordan going to be able to keep the starting spot over Rhodes? I don't think so but it's a toss up at this point

I heard/read somewhere that they're going to go with Jordan as the feature back, but that Rhodes will be getting plenty of supplemental carries. Seems like it'll work similar to Reggie Bush & Lendale White when Kiffin had them both at SC.

If Sapp is healthy, he will supplant Johnson at FB. I doubt he sees more than yoman's work at tailback.

No, pretty good. I thought Shields retired, though. I also think Scheffler is going to out perform Gonzo this year. I also think Kuper will emerge as a standout at guard.

not bad. I do think that Hamilton is the best LG in the AFCWEST, I don't think he get the press he should and is one of the better technician in the league. But overall it about right

The interesting thing IMO is the WR positions here.

Moss has a ton of physical tools, but would you take a disinterested Moss with a terrible QB (or a rookie QB if they take Russell and start him) over Vincent Jackson with a good QB in Rivers?

Same goes for Porter. Great WR, but upset with the franchise and doesn't have an adequate QB.

If it's based off purely physical tools, then I agree with the WR rankings... But if it factors in the system, QB, and other variables, it could make for an interesting discussion. I mean, Moss has been a shell of what he was in Minnesota.

Pretty good! This kind of thread makes for a BIT more interesting offseason. More people should come up with stuff like this.

I agree with most of that except for Stokely over Smith. I think Rod will be the number 3, even number 2 if he is healthy and Marshall stumbles.

I hope by the end of next year we can say Cutler is better than Rivers.

Better than pro bowler Brian Waters and up and coming guard Dielman? I don't think so.

I'd put Huard over Cutler at this point. The WR thing is a mess because most of those guys either don't want to play or haven't proven anything yet. McIntosh ahead of Sims. Hardwick ahead of Nalen. Definetely Wiegman over Groves. Gallery shouldn't be ahead of anybody.

Not yet. I think he will retire but there has not been an announcement yet. If he does retire it would definitely shake up the rankings at right guard.

Gonzo is playing on a Herm-style run-every-first-and-second-down team that will probably have to keep him in to block on passing downs because the line sucks so bad. Scheffler is younger and following his production from the games he started, could very easily out-produce Gonzo with weak-armed, no-line Huard or Brodie Frayle at the helm.

Chris Kuper is a stud. You don't know anything about him at all, so really you're (predictably) full of crap and tracking your poo-stain into this thread.
