Great. After 36 pages of b****ing, insults, and devisive dialogue in the "14 year old black girl sentenced to seven years in prison..." thread, we are now graced with this piece of ****.
It is a LONG offseason. FOOTBALL? Anyone? |

Okay, this thread is bunk. It's a CHOICE issue.
Yes I approve of a woman's right to choose. However I hold reserves on the issue itself. |

I hope everyone is against abortion even if you think it is a mother's right to choose. I believe in Satan but I dont preach to him. Abortion is a horrible thing to go through for a woman. I wish most would take protection, abstenience, etc. more seriously (this of course after I went through my single years hoping for non abstince woman). Less abortions is best. Personally, I find it hard to call someone a "mother" if they are ok to kill their baby. They are called mother's because they would protect their child/children. All groups , pro and con, should work on the issues to lower abortions. Catholics need to open up the idea of birth control and planned parenthood need to show what can happen about their own feelings after this procedure. I wouldnt mind that they need to show what their baby looks like at their current age in the womb.

Abortion is the removal of rapidly dividing cells that some consider life. Cancer is rapidly dividing cells. Therefore people with cancer should let it kill them and not get treated because that would be killing life.

Gee, can you make it any more black n white? Name me another "thing" that grows and develops but isnt considered "alive"? Admit it is a living thing as an a baby and then you can determine if you want to kill it. TO state that the fetus isnt a baby is a cope out. If you still want to kill it, you have that right in America. I just dont like how some think it is just some easy medical procedure like a root canal.

I think it should be a STATE Issue. That way certain states could be PRO-Abortion and certain states could be ANTI-Abortion. I am sure the states in the South would tend to be more ANTI-Abortion, but am sure the states in the Northeast and Pacific Northwest would be more PRO-Abortion.
That way it would give individuals the ability to, if they were really passionate about an issue, to physically move there. It would give people the freedom to choose. It might be hard for some people to pack up and start a new life somewhere, but at least it would be an option. Then, for many others, like myself, that might have thoughts one way or the other on such issues, but does not consider it life or death (no pun intended...), would just live with whatever their state's stance is on such an issue. I feel this way on many of the "Fringe" issues that seem to divide our nation so. If this were to happen with many of these types of issues, the nation (federal) could concentrate on more important issues, ie., economy, security and education. |

Really ludo, couldn't you just've used the search function and dug up the thousand or so threads that deal with this "get nowhere" issue instead of trying to drag us through it all again? I know that's not your intention, but if you're truly interested in views on this subject, it's all there..all have been posted before..all you have to do is enter the word and whammo.

No one is "pro-abortion." The debate was never the merit of abortion, but whether a person had a right to make the choice to have one. Use of a term like Pro-abortion basically lables a person as incapable of carring on an objective debate of the issue.

why do you have a problem telling it how it is...pro-choice=pro-abortion. simple as that. if you believe a woman has the right to decide if her baby lives or dies, then you obviously do not find anything wrong with abortion itself.....it would be like saying "i support a man's right to choose whether or not to pull the trigger, but if he kills someone i dont support that"--its so hypocritical.

I don't think anyone is Pro-abortion. "Every woman should have at least one abortion before the age of 35."
The proper word is pro choice. And while I think that is a terrible and sad choice to have to terminate a pregnancy, it is an individual's choice to make. I know there are many who think this view is rerehensible, so I don't even try to argue it anymore. Just wanted to point out that even though I do support a woman's right to choose, abortion is an absolute last resort that should be avoided at all costs. |
