Simple XBox 360, PS3 or the Wii...Which one is the best?

I am going to get a PS3 and it has free online gaming(although not as good a people base YET) Also it has more multimedia options and it will ev entually get a lot more games.

I say go a Wii for now, and buy a ps3 a year from now. It'll take a while for the ps3 monster to get rolling with a solid library of games.

I have PS3, it simple amazing graphics on the HD TV, but the game selection is a weak but it getting better

The 360 is awesome...but no HDDVD drive included....the Ps3 is awesome too....but the movies are blue-ray...which is another lame attempt by sony to control media

PS3 is good but, I wish the games had a harder level on them. Xbox 360 games are more challenging, Call of Duty 3 on PS3 is way way to easy.

I voted Wii because that is what I have, but here is the deal breaker, IMO:

Microsoft, in April I think, is going to release the "X-Box 360 Elite" which has 120 GB Hard Drive, HD capabilities (and the HD cords included) and will only cost $480. Now $480 is a lot of money, but still $120 less than the 60 GB PS3.

I'm not a huge graphics/tech guy, but if I were going to buy one (and I may, eventually) it would have to be the 360 based on that.

PS3 for the HDMI, 1080P Blu-Ray player and free online gaming. I currently have the 360 but kinda wish I would have waited and bought the PS3.

I've had the 360 for over a year now, and have no complaints at all. The game selection is great, and getting better now that Sony is losing all their exclusive rights to certain blockbuster games such as GTA. The 360 offers the best game selection. The online IMO, is far superior to Sony's. I played the PS3 at a friends, single and online, and Xbox Live is way better than what the PS3 offers.

I didn't say that only online play makes a great game. We were talking about God of War 3 competing with Halo 3 weren't we? If that's what we are talking about, online play plays a HUGE part.

In today's age, I would say yes.

I buy most games based solely on what I can do online. Single player is fun, but online gives it the most replayability.

I'd disagree. I found Halo to be an average game with online play making it better. No doubt competeing against other people is an awesome thing, but its not the primary reason I buy videogames. I dig Sony, so I will buy the PS3 and eventually sony will beat microsoft, just how it goes.

I voted for the 360 cause I have quite a few Xbox titles I didnt want to throw out and start over again with a different platform.

This is really a coke/pepsi kind of poll - boils down to preference with no right/wrong answer.

The wii kinda reminds me of the old Intellevisions where they came out with a radically different controller than the rest of the game stations of the time had.

I never played with a wii - how do you guys like that controller?

The 360 elite is coming out april 27 i think, 120g hd. I like xbox much better.

yes they are.

Personally i will stick with my ps2, i have a 300 gig hard drive in it, and 140 odd games on that hard drive, i boot it up and pick a game from a list, until i can do something like that with either new system i will be sticking with my old one.

Besides i figure ive still got another year or so where i will still be able to get new games for it, once the game support stops then i might get a new system. Altho honestly i only really play football hockey and guitar hero

oh did i mention i just installed a nintendo emulator so i can go old school with 300 nintendo games.

I dont think I said that. I simply like sony more. I played Xbox, did not really like the controller, so I stayed with sony. No biggie.

Thats exactly what I do each time. Hold out until they totally stop making games/supporting the former gen console.

I have 42" HDTV plasma and 1st gen xbox looks great on it. The 2nd gen does look better, but I am now married with kids and priorities arent in latest/greatest gaming anymore.

BTW I have been geeking out on EA's NFL Head Coach big time as of late. I always liked the franchise/GM aspects of Madden games. Head Coach isnt quite for everyone and should have just been a Madden add-on - but I like it.
