Default Redskins offering #6 pick for Briggs and #31?

Redskins | Team offers No. 6 overall pick for Briggs
Mon, 26 Mar 2007 18:10:10 -0700

Jay Glazer, of FOXSports.com, reports the Washington Redskins have offered the No. 6 overall pick to the Chicago Bears for LB Lance Briggs and the No. 31 overall pick, according to agent Drew Rosenhaus.

This is hardly a slam dunk. Why would tight fisted Michael McCaskey be any more anxious to pay big money to the sixth pick in the draft than he is to Briggs?

I would say there's a way less than 50% chance this deal happens.

McCaskey doesn't give a **** about showing Lance Briggs up. There will always be another Lance Briggs b****ing about money any time the Bears have a winning team.

Thats true. I am conflicted though, I like that he won't cowtow to the pre-madonnas in the league but I also think its dumb b/c he is going to go all Rockies eventually and chase the talent away.

problem for the bears is they need help on the offensive side of the ball... By #6 the Calvin Johnson, Jamarcus Russel, Brady Quinn, Adrian Peterson, and Joe Thomas are all gone... Seems like overkill to add Gaines adams to that D-Line of theres.

Now do they take Bly and #21 for #6... 'cause i would love to add Gaines Adams to our line.

yeah but then we are super low on CB's. We would have to draft another CB in case one gets hurt. Right now if Bly is happy I say hold onto him.

How about Al and the 21st? As much as I love Al and would hate to see him go... the 6th would be almost adequate compensation. Imagine Andersonm, Branch, or Landry in this lineup or trade down? Damn.

As much as I love him, Al's value is pretty much worthless right now...no way we could get that trade done.

This deal values Briggs at 1000 points ... or the 16th pick overall

Prima Donna is a term that originated in opera companies and its translated from Italian for "First Lady".

I would say Larry Johnson is the biggest diva in the League right now, but Michael Vick deserves strong consideration.

Maybe I'm just a hopeless homer but I feel Al is worth roughly what Briggs is. Al has some injury concerns sure. But Briggs has mouth concerns, Some **** you just keep in house. Plus I'm sure he can manage to scrape by on the paltry franchise tag for another year. Didn't the palyers want the tag to begin with? Peter King wrote a fantastic article regarding the tag and basically told Briggs to shut the **** up.

Lelie?? As much as I hate he Chiefs I still respect Johnson. Don't care one way or the other about the Falcs but when they're on I'll tune in just to see Vick. He ain't Montanna, Elway,Manning but the dude is still one of the most exciting players in the league. Lelie is more b**** than a b****

There are two kinds of prima donnas. The incredibly talented, but insufferable types like Larry Johnson are the traditional kind of prima donna. You put up with the guy's bull**** because he's simply good enough to get away with it.

In recent years, we've seen the rise of a new type of prima donna. The guys like Lelie, who have all the tools, but fail to produce at a high level. Since just being a first round pick makes you a celebrity these days - instead of a relatively faceless jock like you were 20 years ago - these guys are used to being treated with deference.

Bears would be stupid to not do this. LB is overrated any way and they would basically be trading 31 for 6 because if they let Briggs sit out they will lose him for nothing.
