Here's the problem...
I want to upload some videos from my video camera (not digital) to Youtube so I can share them with my family. I can record the videos in digital form by recording the videos with my DVD/R player (philips DVDR600VR). I then take the DVD/RW I've recorded the video to and bring it too my computer. The DVD will play properly in my computer but when I go to Youtube it wants you to select a file to download unfortunately, the DVD creates 5 equal sized files (no matter how long the clip(s)) that contain the contents of the clip(s) I've recorded from my video camera. Youtube only allows you to select one file to upload at a time so I can never upload the whole video onto Youtube. Anybody have any suggestions or know of a specific computer/video message board that could help me? Thanks much... |

I think youtube only accepts .avi .mov and .mpeg formats. Instead of writing the files to dvd, connect the camera to your pc and use either the built in windows or a third party video editing program to create an avi file.

You might have to get a special cord to connect your video camera. I am not sure the name but I have one at work. It also requires a port to plug into and isn't usually standard on the basic PC.
