I didn't know the Giants had picked him up last season.
Actually, though nobody around here is talking much about it, our #3 WR spot looks truly horrifying: Rod Smith will be coming off his first serious injury at 37 ... and without any off-season conditioning ...I never thought I'd be pining for the days of the David Terell/Darius Watts/Todd Devoe trio .... |

A valid argument could be made that Brandon Marshall looks pretty good at #3, Buff...

Exactly, Blue - Shanahan always said he was "impossible" to cover....
I think the #3 WR spot for the Broncos might be cursed. Not 'cursed' as in Browns first-round drfat picks, but cursed somehow. And another thing: Next to anthonypacino and maybe Ratboy, I'm as big a Brandon Marshall fan as there is around here ... I think he'll be better than Javon in a year or two. But the fact is, he is completely unproven in this league. This roster actually has a total of ONE - count them - ONE - experienced, healthy, productive wide receiver. And, tragic as it is, that one WR might be suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder. When you look close, our WR picture is a complete mess. |

David Terrel: Major first-round bust who did nothing for us in two seasons - or anybody else for that matter Darius Watts: Dropped everything thrown his way. Outstanding route running and YAC ability but he just couldn't catch the damn ball. Just becuase he's hanging by his fingertips to another team's roster doesn't mean he's got over that Todd Devoe: unless I'm mistaken, this guy did actually catch a few balls and even make a play or two for us, yet he was still beaten out fair and square in camp last offseason by some of the guys who you are now saying aren't worth a damn... Remember, none of these guys have to get 1000 yards, and with the number of 2 TE sets we will run I would be truly surprised if our #3 got as much action as other teams will - you should really think fo Sheffler as our #3 WR even though he's a TE...... And if Stokely is fully recovered as he should be, then this discussion is over. The only way we are fretting about the #3 slot is if NEITHER Rod OR Brandon are healthy....and chances are at least one of them will be by the time the season kicks off.... |

I can live with Walker, Marshall, Smith, Kircus and Stockley, especially with Graham and Scheffler in the inside and Travis carrying the rock.

I think our WR core looks alot better than I can remember in some time now. Kircus, Smith and Stokely...nah we're fine.

WR is really the position I'm less worried about. Javon is a top 10 WR, and he's still young. Marshall, I have NO DOUBT that he'll be a very, very, very good WR. Rod, for the first time I'm a bit worried about him, but I bet he plays and does a great job, as usual. Stokely should be healthy and even if he has lost a step, he should be a pretty good number 3, and a great slot guy. Kircus has shown some flashes and I'd be cool with him as the number 3, so I think he can do some good things. Morgan can contribute as a WR if he has too, but his place in Special Teams is what will give him a roster spot.
Hixon and Clark... well, I have no idea what will happen with them, but if we go with: Walker, Marshall, Smith, Stokely, Kircus, Morgan... well... I think that's pretty good. |

WR is still a soft spot in the roster. With the addition of Stokley I doubt the Broncs draft on on the first day unless someone they really like falls in their lap, but I do expect them to take on on the second day to keep on the practice squad. Hixon could be the PS guy, but I am guessing he makes the roster.

Yeah ... Scheffler can fly, has great hands, and chemistry with Cutler.
And we all know Graham wants to CATCH MORE BALLS. That's all he talked about on his 'mini-tour' of the west coast and here. So I'm guesing Shanny made some assurances there. I like the TEs, Khan - no doubt. But I keep remembering that Javon is the ONLY healthy, experienced WR we have ... and last I heard, it sounds like he's suffering from PTSD. |

Based upon missing the funeral, and countless stories about his difficult moments. The severity of a PTSD diagnosis has widely varying levels. I might be overstated with that term, but word is he had/is having serious coping problems.

You have no basis to state that crap, and I doubt you have any experience in it.
Have you ever had some one die in your arms? I have, and what has been reported reguarding Javon is not PTSD because I know. |

Many players improved under Cutler but for ONE, and that would be Javon. His passes per game went down, his TDs per game went down, his yds per catch went down...finally he went from a potential pro-bowl season to a good season. Was it because Cutler was inferior? No, the game plan and QB changed so his game was affected. I'm sure he will put up great numbers with JC next season, but there was no need to fictionalize the pass to either get a hit on Plummer and/or to justify your argument (i.e. you didn't need your Javon comment tor prove your point). |
