Our genius department of transportation completely redid the main road thru town. Then they changed it to a two lane from 4 and put in a center turn lane, and never even bothered to make bike lanes even tho there was tons of room to do so. All they needed to do was put two turn arrows in the main intersection. Anyway...
So I'm driving my usual easy style, (nowadays), and I'm thru the crosswalk on a right turn, blinker on, and the light turns yellow right as I am past the crosswalk...I simply continued my turn...no problem...so I always check my mirror before I turn to my house, and behind me out of nowhere is a cop that charged out of nowhere right on my bumper...driving like a teenager...just as I thought I was toast, he pulled a hard right all bravado and probably because I hadn't done anything wrong, he acted pissed off. This is a quiet town and I was allready past the crosswalk when the light turned yellow. That didn't keep him from playing the intimidator. Probably wanted his first kill of the day. This town has less crime than Little House on the Prarie...if anyone deserved a ticket, it was him. People don't lock doors here and generally leave their cars unlocked, and often with the keys on the console. Hard to believe, but it's true...so when some rookie trying to make a name for himself and give himself a name for "The Enforcer", it kinda pisses me off. It just kinda pissed me off...I was allready in the intersection when it turned yellow. This town is as violent as Mayberry. The only real problem is some meth around, and it's not chronic...it's bad in the midwest tho. I just don't know why the SOB charged me out of nowhere. He turned about 30 mph after charging me too. I guess even Mayberry needs it's Barny Fife. I was so pissed. Rant over. Any other irritating/funny cop stories? I have one that absolutely noone would believe. |

Go down to the court house and swear out a warrant on the officer. The traffic laws apply to it as well.

When I bought the house in my neighborhood many people were quick to point out there is a policeman living three houses down. Apparently this is supposed to represent some type of coup.
What wasn't said is the guy is the worst driver on the block. Every morning he zooms into his driveway and 5 minutes later busts down the street at a speed no one else even thinks of doing. I don't know if it happens more than once a day but it wouldn't surprise me. I guess it's a matter of these guys are there to enforce the law, not live by it. |

I could tell at least half a dozen agressive cop stories. STFU. They are scared to take a real stand on important crap. I had a good friend who threw up his hand and retired from the force and this isn't exactly Compton. The fact is, cops here have a hard time even getting perps, yet alond getting them. The cop charged me, then pulled a Nascaresque right turn. This is when a light turned yellow when I as allready in the intersection. I also love how cop numbers are not clearly marked on their cars. Want to get hassled? Ask for their badge number. Last edited by watermock; 03-21-2007 at 11:41 AM.. |

Here is my Rant!!
I am driving to the Gym on I25. I am always the first one there and usually have to wait 15 minutes for my lifting partners so needless to say I am in no hurry. As I am getting into Pueblo I look back to see a Cop with his lights on behind me. I am driving just about 80 so I assume he is just very board and needs his quotas. He pulls me over asks for my information and then tells me do you know How fast you were going. "Yes I was going 80mph" "I clocked you going 95" "What! I was not going 95 I had my cruise set at 80" "No I check my gun and you were going 95." "No way!" "Yes Sir I clocked you at mile Marker 85 Going 95MPH" "But this is Mile Marker 93" "I know here is your Ticket" So I try and fight it but the Judge just says was your equiptmnet working properly. And gives me the Dang Ticket and 6 points on my license. Even though there is no way he could have seen me even most of the time he was following because of the hilly terrain and the fact that there were 3 offramps between where he clocked me and where I got the ticket. Rant Over |

I've allready told the story how I was thrown into jail for being a witness so it's moot. And you wonder why people are not good samaritans. Improper paperwork threw me in jail. Funny thing...the guyswho beat the crap out of the guy walked away clean.
OK fine...I'm right off work, in a suit...I see a guy being assauled and the cops show up...I'm not involved...I wanted to make a statement as a good citizen...first thing they are into my face about ID...they never as once what I witnessed...They see my valid license and say I have an oustanding warrant...It was an issue resolved over a year before. I'm hauled to jail on a friday night. I have to post bond on monday...can't disturb them on a weekend. So a couple months later, insteas of clearing it up, I had to ge the papers to clear my name, and guess what? Case dismissed...and the didn't offer zero apology. The most ironic thing is that the guys who beat the living crap out of this guy walked away laughing. That ended my good samaritan career. |

I got pulled over by 5 units, guns drawn, hands up, on my stomach, the whole nine yards. Turns out that I drove by a used car lot where some idiot was trying to steal a car. The security guard pointed my truck out as the getaway vehicle. Several hours later, the security guard decided he may have made a mistake. I was allowed to go home and change my soild chones. I took alternate routes home from then on.

So the cop came up behind you real quick and then turned? He is obviously guilty of not following the law that he is suppose to be enforcing.
Or, he could have been on the way to a call and your "easy style" driving was preventing him from getting there. But that line of reasoning would take away from the horrible incident that happened to you where you were so inconvenienced for 5 seconds of your life. |

just to clarify something for you mock, the intersection doesn't begin with the crosswalk it begins at the prolongation of the lateral curb lines.

I was in the intersection whan it turned yellow and I just folled with my turn, and he charged me. It was borderline road rage and certainly intiidation. I'm right on an intersection and the light turns yellow so I am clear and complate my turn. Was I supposed to slam on the brakes and be in the middle of the intersection? STFU. Quote:
