Default Thanks Broncocalijohn. San Diego trip report

One of things Orange Maners should take a step back and be thankful for is some of the great people on here. Broncocalijohn doesn't know me from a hole in the wall but he set me with his choice seats for what turned out to be one of the sickest games I've ever been to (and I've been to snow bowl , afc champinships and Super Bowls) That's beacuse he's a good guy and football fan first. Thanks again man. I know the situation didn't leave us much time to talk but I am going to go out of my way to meet up with you guys (AK1971, Pacino, Bronco Billy ect...) on a neutral game for me (maybe Denver Chicago next year) The seats were awesome but that girl next to me (victorias secret sales girl) lied to you. She was a CHARGER fan. She had on the L T jersey and said GO chargers everytime she walked by. What a friggin trip !!!! The only bummmer was the Jet Blue flight to Long Beach which was supposed to be a nonstop was going against a 120 mph headwind so we had to refuel in Denver and since it was snowing we had to de-ice the plane twice . The six hour trip became 9 hours(ouch) We set up our own line of Pats fans right behind the endzone where Plaza 54 was. Tailgating was a Blast. Good natured ribbing although as we got closer to kickoff it became a little more intense. The Charger fans thought (as you can guess) that this game was nearly a formality along the way to the Super Bowl. Walking in I narrowly escaped some clown puking on me from behind. The attendents still let him in. Stadium is old but good sightlines and plenty of room. A little blind spot in back of endzone where we were sitting because the wall is pretty high and close to the field. Fans near us were extremely condident. The guys in front of us refused to shake my good luck handshake before the game. They had a girl with them that was so drunk she was passed out from the 2nd quarter on. I even reported to security so she could be taken home but they did nothing. Typical "Brady sucks !!" chants ringing down during the game. The stadium at points was deafening. Almost as loud as Invesco during last years Playoff game but not quite. We stood the whole game which was great since my stomach was in knots and I needed to stand. Bathroom situation sucked until I found a line of Port a Potties (just like old Foxboro stadium I don't know if it came across on TV but the fans thought that were going to get another chance at FG when they called unsportsman like penalty on us at end. They were all jumping around me(sorry Charger fans) At the end it did get very ugly. I saw at least 6 drag out brawls on the way to the car. Some of the Pats fans brought in on themselves by giving **** to the Charger fans but some were in the wrong place at the wrong time. There were some exremely drunk angry Charger fans after the game. I saw one guy that was arrested being escorted with a hood over his head. The only thing I could think is that guy was so out of control they were worried about biting. We stayed about an hour and a half until some of the Pats fans in our group almost got into fight amongst ourselves so I called it a night at that point. Thanks again John .You live in a pretty part of the country and I promise I will see you again.

Keep it coming ! I print this out and take it to the shower with me. Billy squier said it best! Thanks Crow and others. That victoria secret chick (weird hair and looked a little older) was bringing a friend. Maybe so but why would she need to lie? Seems a Pats fan would be the one to lie to get tickets. I just wonder Crow how many other Pats fans were around you from row 5 to 9? Charger fans are normally pretty mellow fans but when you pay $325 a ticket (first game for many) and lose, the a hole comes out of ya I guess. Congrats on the win but i must confess. I put you there to get your A$$ kicked by all the Charger fans. I guess they wont get their bonus from me but they were probably afraid of your size. Hope you enjoyed our neck of the woods and hope to see ya at least for another Denver vs Pats playoff game. Nuetral site for you might be Indy or Chicago.

One of the coolest things about that SD/Den game was when we all marched in as a group...single file, around the lower rim of the stadium to our seats.

Yeah, my hand hurt after slapping soooooo many denver fans. Maybe we should take a short cut to the seats next year and save our skin.
