Basically means he's only costing our cap $1.6m this year.
Travis' signing bonuses were split over 2007 and 2008. as per RMN J Legwold. http://blogs.rockymountainnews.com/d..._see.html#more Travis will also be out of the NFL substance abuse program after Game 3 of this season so he'll have a clean slate from then. Great signing IMO. |

So, if he were to fail a test after the third game, then it will be as if he never failed in the first place? He'll have the same two freebies everyone else has?

I don't regret any of the big names we didn't pick up last year. I liked what we did in the draft. I think last year's offseason, Browncos and all, was pretty solid but this one shows a lot of focus.
Somehow the draft is worrisome though. I'm pretty sick of Le Sewer type picks where you know day one it's just a waste. |

Champ is a great player but we lost Portis to get him while this year we lost two players not in our plans and signed three starters and some solid back ups. I think this is the best off season in recent memory and it is only two weeks old....

Oh yeah and that also means if they DO draft a replacement -- bye bye Travis Henry in '08.
ESPN (I think it was) had a piece that was pretty funny the other day making fun of agents publicizing all these contracts by talking about "guaranteed money". They used Michael Lewis' contract with the 49ers as an example. He is "guaranteed" 10M over 3 years, all in the form of roster bonuses. Translation: cut him in any one of those years and the money is in fact NOT guaranteed. Sounds like the same deal here with Henry. I like the signing because I think Denver was smart. A low front-end deal, with protection against him getting suspended. Then let him prove he deserves the second half of that deal over this up coming season. |

So this off-season (FA period) is the best in three years. (IMO) Hopefully we will get that pass rusher DE in April. |
