Does anybody else watch this show? It's quickly become one of my favorites. I know this is a serious issue, and I know there are a lot of parents on this board who take this stuff very seriously (as they should), but to me it's just plain funny watching these douche bags get caught.
My favorite guys are the ones who have an on-line chat transcript like this: Pervert: Are you a cop? Decoy Kid: No! Pervert: Good enough for me, let's have sex. Yeah, like the decoy is going to tell you they're a cop. Retards. |

I watch it from time to time and just about every one of them when first confronted, claims "didn't plan to do anything, just came here to talk." Uh, yeah, drove a couple hours just to talk to a 13-14 year old. I'm sure have so much in common. Of course you know that's BS with what's written in the online chats, but like they think they're going to fool anybody into believing that story. What's even sicker is it gets revealed some of these sickos have kids about the age of the kids they are visiting and planning to do more than talk to.

The ones who have kids are real scumbags. Also in that category is the guy who worked for Nickelodean getting caught on there. |

That show should be renamed...something like...
"Guess What? YOU'RE a Wicked Perv!" or "Lights! Camera! Pedophile!" |

And mind you these are just the ones they happen to catch in whatever area the show happens to be at the time. Just think of how many of these perverts must be out there. It's a scary time to have kids with these people just waiting for an opportunity.

I have several questions about that show.
first...Are the police entraping these morally bankrupt pervs? second..Can't these guys just lie their way out because no actual crime has been commited. Or rather, sex with a minor hasn't been committed? |

No. Entrapment only happens when the police encourage you do to something. In this show, the pedophiles are all the aggressors.

Edit: It's like, solicitation of a minor or something like that. Also, a lot of these perverts send naked pictures of themselves, which is exposing a minor to lewd material or something like that. |

And I don't know if this applies to all 50 states, but during the shows, the police as they question the guys caught it will say it's against the law to even engage in sexual talk with minors over the net and send nude photos, which some of these guys do as well. In Texas (and many others) you only have to have a conversation with a minor of sexual nature to be prosecuted.

I saw a clip of one on The Soup (the wife's obsessed) where the guy was excited to be on TV. Strange characters.

I watch it on tv and online, its pretty sick that a married man with children would try and hook up with underage kids.

[QUOTE=DomCasual;1504264]Yeah, I felt that way after the second or third one. The only thing interesting about it is the continued stupidity of the targets.
QUOTE] The frightening thing is, it isn't stupidity. Even knowing there is a good chance at getting caught, these guys cannot resist the urge. Most of them will be back on the internet 15 minutes after being released. I hate these deviants are finding a "community" in cyberspace which is some way is convincing them they are "normal". Most of these guys won't ever stop because they just plain have faulty wiring. I wish chemical castration were the penalty for every one of them. |

Sexual abuse scares me to death with my kids. We will go overboard to protect them from it, but it's only because I've seen how one fleeting moment can scar them for life. They'll never do sleepovers - even with cousins. We deliberately do things to make our house the one the neighborhood kids play at (you should see our pantry - it's an 8-year-old's dream!) - if they're here, we know they're protected. They'll never have a computer in their rooms. It's an investment of a small part of their innocence so that someone else can't take a large part of it. |

I try to watch every time. I don't know why more isn't done to protect children. America doesn't mind rattling its saber all over the world over make believe WMD. Why don't we roll into Thailand, Cambodia or Costa Rica and shut down their multi-billion child sex trade industries? I guess because it would inconvenience the American businessmen who fly there routinely to rape five year olds and there's no money in that.

As good as the inital concept was/is....they've since pounded it into the ground and , as a result, it doesn't make for very interesting television anymore IMO. I've applauded the show's motive and have since moved on.
