Posted By Roy Cummings at Mar 05, 2007 at 03:09 PM Updated Mar 05, 2007 at 03:14 PM TAMPA – If Jake Plummer has any plans to retire, the NFL doesn’t know about it. Not officially anyway. Contradicting reports that began circulating late Friday, an NFL spokesman on Monday told The Tribune that it has not received retirement papers from Plummer. Several media outlets reported Friday that Plummer filed his retirement papers with the league on Friday. If that’s the case, then the forms must have gotten lost somewhere, because the league doesn’t have them. What that means is that right now, Plummer is still an active player. If and when he does decide to retire, Plummer must send a letter to the league notifying it of his intentions. The next step would belong to the team that owns Plummer’s rights, and as we all know from Saturday’s press conference, that team is the Bucs. At the time Plummer officially informs the league of his plans to retire, the Bucs can either continue to carry him on their active roster or they can place him on the reserve/retired list. |

Oh!! Yea!!
Thanks HEAV! I read the other thread this morning about papers being filed by Jake on Fri before Shanny pulled the trigger on the trade! I was pretty worried! Don't pull on Shanny's cape! ![]() |

Talk about making a soap opera outta this. Jake has lost me with all this BS. I loved the guy when he was here. But know it's sad to see him act like this, he should just retire adn get it over with or demand a trade to Houston. Piss or get off the pot Jake.

As far as I'm concerned, talking about Plummer is a non-issue. He is not a Bronco so who cares what he does.

I'm also losing respect for Plummer. If he's really wanting to retire, then do it already. If not, then stop b****ing about not getting to choose where to play. This, I guess threat of retiring, if that's what's really going on, isn't scaring anybody. The NFL will play on with or without him He signed the contract, so the Broncos have the right to trade him wherever they want. If anything, I think Plummer is making himself look bad in all of this and needs to make a decision quickly. Heck, if he went to Tampa and explained his wants, maybe they would be mroe receptive to trading him or working out some kind of deal. But act like this and I doubt Tampa is that eager to work out a compromise.
