h. Kyle Brady is an un-sexy pick to take the blocking-tight-end role that Graham filled so well for the Patriots. But it's classic New England, refusing to pay $5.5 million a year (which Graham got in Denver) for a guy who, in their system, is going to catch 22 balls and be behind Benjamin Watson and David Thomas on Tom Brady's mental checklist at tight end. So you pay $2.5 a year and hope Kyle Brady, a 278-pounder, gives you two solid years as a sixth offensive lineman.

Here's the deal with the Plummer trade: Tampa Bay agreed to send a seventh-round pick to Denver whether he stays retired or not. If he returns to football before the 2008 draft, Tampa Bay will owe Denver a higher pick. The Bucs believe he'll play in 2008.
