Default Yamon Figures a Must Draft--I think

Many of you are an aware of this young man from K-State but I know him quite well. Ask Reggie Nelson how fast he is. He will never be a great reciever, he best routes are the slant, drag, and fly. He can return kicks and punts, and the best part on Track down here without pads, we clocked him at a 4.26 40 yard dash. At the combine he ran a 4.30. He is a great kid, who just wants to make it. I believe he could be a cheap special teams standout, plus a deep threat for the cannon. I will try to get video of him and reggie nelson going after it, very entertaining.

Depends where to draft him. I don't see him as a 3rd rounder. Maybe a 5th rounder at the highest.

I'd take him in the 4th round... oops, don't have a 4th rounder. I'd take him in the 5th rounder... DOH! No dice there either. Hmm, looks like we'll have to use a 3rd if we're to draft him. I wouldn't be opposed to him with our pick in the 3rd... but not over a ton of other guys that I think may be available at 86 (or whatever our 3rd is).

I actually think figurs would make an intriguing 3rd rounder. Does he return kicks?

We didn't trade our fourth rounder Bman.

We traded our fifth for Bly, and got Detroits 6th.

And then traded a sixth, not sure which one, for Wilkerson.

I had it backwards. I thought we got their fourth rounder this year, and gave ours next year. We give up ours this year, and get theirs next year.

I dont remeber Nash being a special teams standout?? He is far from nash. I also forget while at garden he was the national champ in the indoor 60 yard dash.

Broncos took Hixon last year and put him on IR. I assume to take a serious look at him this training camp. I would rather use the pick on another position over a kick returner and fly pattern runner. Hixon should be 100% by camp this year.

Gun to my head, I still want to see how Hixon fares. I drafted HIM for the Redskins last year...

Yamon Figures is a second day pick, he isn't a must draft for anyone.

Now if a team is looking for a return specialist, which we probably are, he's not a bad value pick in the 5th or 6th. If he's there with the pick we got from Detroit I'd be for taking him.

I don't really think our problem was running the ball, it was the blocking and teamwork on ST. When we blocked well, Charlie Adams did a decent job. Quincy Morgan did a good job. Hixon would be fine with me. I am more excited about a new ST coach then the person running the ball.

If you watch guys like Devin Hester return the ball, you will see that his teammates are absolutely leveling guys down the field. They crush in their ST blocking. Our team just didn't have that last year, but I hope we do this year.

I would rather sign some safeties, linebackers, or fast D-Ends at the end of the draft that could be really good ST blockers, than to spend a pick on a reciever that will never be a receiver on our team.

Just my two bits.

I'd love him on day 2, but on day 1 he's an over pick of mammoth proportions.

I couldn't agree more. Speed is only useful if it is equipped with a football player. Without that pairing it is akin to a rear spoiler on a Yugo.
