That'd be a huge trade. I don't understand why the Jets would give up so much for it. Who'd they get? AD?

There isnt anyone in this draft but maybe Calvin Johnson or AD worth Vilma. Probably just my opinion though.

I wonder if people still want us to move up for AD. Would you give up Javon, Wilson and our 1st rounder for him?

From listening to new york radio, the jets are HELL BENT on getting a RB. They dont see Leon Washington as an everydown back. whether through FA or the draft, but my guess is this is for Peterson. plus they just resigned cotchery.

Could be, look at how crappy their WR corps will be without Coles. Then again their RBs are nothing to write home about either.

Makes sense since Detroit was going for Wilson. I imagine Vilma is right along those lines as well.

the jets are just getting a RB by giving up their best WR??....seems stupid to get a running game while giving up the passing game, a lateral move at best. coles was chad p's favorite target and he'll be lost without him. hell of a deal for the lions imo.

They'll benefit from drafting either one... They need a back & a WR... It simply gives them more flexibility... The rumored move by Detroit doesn't surprise me- Martz is a guy who strongly beleives QB's can be found anywhere in the draft to play his offense and has probably convinced Millen that its better to shop the pick rather than grab Quinn or Russell

I would believe it was Calvin if there was a qb in NY that could stretch the field.

There are some stud WRs out there to plug in (Horn, Stallworth etc). this deal has to be for AD.

I would say the opposite. Detroit might come back to Denver with a bigger offer.

Heard it on John Claytons radio show about an hour ago.
I think Vilma would be included in this deal along with our 1st rounder and maybe late second rounder. I think we would then select Peterson.

or

Maybe Vilma, Coles and the 25th and we select Calvin Johnson.
This not likely but if Calvin is the guy we are looking for, Coles will have to go.

What I didnt hear clayton say is who the Jets want at 2.

I am assuming its either Calvin or Peterson.
I think they want Johnson.
This is the first post of the Jets thread. The poster is just guessing at what the Jets would possibly give up to move to the #2 spot. I know earlier this offseason there were rumors about a Vilma for Portis deal with some possible picks thrown in on both sides. Seems like they are at least looking to see what offers they can get for Vilma since he had a little bit of trouble in the 3-4 last year.

Vilma trade? John Clayton says he never mentioned it
There is all kinds of talk, blogs and posts out there about ESPN's John Clayton supposedly mentioning a possible trade between the Lions and Jets that would involve Detroit's second overall pick for linebacker Jonathan Vilma and assorted draft picks.

"What? I never said a word about it. I've never mentioned Jonathan Vilma,'' Clayton said moments ago.

Ah, Internet rumors. At least this one got shot down before it grew into a monster.

"Freaks" by Tod Browning.

People definitely weren't ready for that movie in 1932. Some audience members fainted and others fled the theater during the final reel.

Kellen Clemens has the arm to strecth the field for Johnson. He was getting a lot of praise in training camp by the Jets coaching staff.
