Default Cheaps add McIntosh

http://chiefs.scout.com/2/623551.html

With left tackle as one of their most pressing offseason needs, the Chiefs acted fast and signed the second-best player on the market, agreeing to terms on a six-year deal with veteran Damion McIntosh.

Second best player on the market? I didn't know turnstiles were that difficult to come by!

Not impressed with this signing.

It means the second best tackle on the market.

You might not be impressed but considering who we had at left tackle before (Jordan Black) this is a huge improvement. He is only a stopgap. At the #23 pick in the first round we are not in a position to add a franchise left tackle in this years draft. We could draft a guy like Tony Ugoh or Joe Staley in the second round but I doubt either would be ready to start this year. I would rather wait until next year and be able to pick from Jake Long, Sam Baker, and my personal favorite Jared Gaither from Maryland(about 6'9" 350 pounds and very fast for that size).

This isn't a flashy move but it is a smart one.

A Chiefs fan and a Charger fan talking about the Chiefs on a Broncos website. What has the world come to?

Good things I think...just a bunch of football fans at a round table.

You gotta remember this article was written by Nick Athan, who is widely regarded as a joke throughout the Chiefs community.

No, he is widely regarded as a joke by the other Chiefs messageboards who are jealous of him.

If he is a joke then why is he a guest on sports TV and radio shows here in KC?

Regardless, it's not Nick Athan who called McIntosh the 2nd best tackle on the market. McIntosh is rated the 2nd best tackle on the market by scout.com. I actually think McIntosh is better than Leonard Davis which is kind of funny considering Davis is somehow going to garner close to $20 million in guaranteed money.

Dude, there is absolutely NO ONE who is a bigger homer than Nick Athan and even 90% of Chief fans can realize that. I've read some of the articles that guy puts out and it's journalistic comedy at it's finest.

Didn't Clayton Wendler write some articles on his site?

You should see them before they are edited. It is incredible.

Mike Nugent is the football mind over there. He has solid work all around.

I'd like to get my hands on one of his unedited articles. I can already picture that in my mind. I've heard good things about Nugent, although I haven't read much of his work.

His training camp blog was some of the best work that came out of Chiefs camp last year. I had a very brief stint with WPI. Their hearts are in the right place but...the way they go about things is silly. They use their access not as a member of the media but has a house guest that is just happy to be there.

Last year they had the scoop on a story that would have been a huge deal and some evidence to back it up...they sat on it for some reason.

They needed to do something before there line started looking Oakland-ish. He's decent and will help keep Huard from dying.

But even if Huard goes down, they got Croyle to come in and throw 70 yard laser TD bombs.

McIntosh is TERRIBLE. It's no surprise he's started bouncing team to team. Somebody thinks he's gonna figure it out- CLUE IN, there's nothing to figure out when you suck.

Waste of money for the chefs.

Yep, he sure is bouncing from team to team. 3 teams is quite a bit, you know?

I'm not sure how anybody can call a left tackle who only gave up 5.5 sacks last year horrible. He isn't great but he is a huge improvement over Jordan Black.

You feeling allright there Kaylore? I'm surprised you found anything the Chiefs did to be positive.
