WOOT!!!! BRING HIM ABOARD!!!
http://tennessean.com/apps/pbcs.dll/...13/1002/SPORTS Saturday, 03/03/07 Titans cut Henry, who will visit Denver By PAUL KUHARSKY Staff Writer The Titans cut running back Travis Henry today, steering clear of an $8.3 million roster bonus that was due on Monday. The team hopes that once Henry and his agent, Hadley Engelhard, size up the free agent market they’ll return to negotiate and they’ll find what the Titans are offering is more reasonable than they thought. Henry is on his way to Denver to meet with the Broncos tonight and tomorrow. He joins a free agent pool of running backs that includes Green Bay’s Ahman Green, Indianapolis’ Dominic Rhodes, Washington’s T.J. Duckett and the player Henry ultimately beat out to become the Titans’ starter in 2006, Chris Brown. Six other backs are considered to be worthy of first- or second-round draft picks in late April: Oklahoma’s Adrian Peterson, Cal’s Marshawn Lynch, Louisville’s Michael Bush, Auburn’s Kenny Irons, Penn State’s Tony Hunt and Ohio State’s Antonio Pittman. Currently the Titans have only one running back on their roster. LenDale White is coming off an unimpressive first season but the Titans expect a big jump. Another draft pick from last season, seventh-rounder Quinton Ganther, played in two games in 2006 but spent the bulk of the season on the practice squad. In 13 starts and 14 games, Henry took 270 carries 1,211 yards for the 2006 Titans with seven touchdowns. His 4.5-yards per carry average was the second best for the franchise’s lead back since the 1993 season. In other free agent developments today: --Defensive tackle Rien Long’s deal with the Titans is for one year and will line him up for another shot at unrestricted free agency in 2008. It is believed to be worth the fifth-year minimum of $595,000. --Harold Lewis, who represents defensive lineman Kevin Carter, said his client could visit with Coach Jeff Fisher early next week to discuss a return. The Titans have not inquired about another Lewis client, linebacker Ed Hartwell. --The agent for receiver Brandon Stokley, just released by Indianapolis, said the Titans are not a team that will be involved in courting him |

I like Henry as a FA better than trading for McGahee.

I wouldn't mind inking him and saving us a draft pick from Buffalo.
While we are at, can we just pick up Patrick Ramsey instead of Brad Johnson? |

Yeah...Henry would be nice. But at 28 he's going to want to get paid. With all these free agents we're looking at how do we pay any of them in our cap situation? I hope we're not asking guys who have made legitimate contributions to this team to take a pay dump just to bring in the Dan Wilkersons of the world

Does anyone else think Stokely getting released by the Colts is big news?
He was a big part of their depth. |

What the hell? I will never again even think of the salary cap when it comes to Denver.

Clearly the local beat writers have no clue what is going on in regards to Denver's cap.
If we get Bly, Wilkinson, Henry, Graham, and Kerny...HOLY **** what a great offseason. |

Travis Henry is the best possible way to maximize our resources. He'll make our running game better, which, in turn, will open up our passing game. He won't cost us a draft pick, like McGahee or a rookie back and he's a very strong fit for our system.
I really, really, really hope this happens. Signing Henry will leave us all our draft picks to use on linemen and a safety. |

Thing is though if Green was looking $5m a year, Henry will be looking the same or even more. Is he worth that kind of coin

If we were to sign all of these guys it has to mean a deep pay cut to Rod Smith or even an outright release.

Of course, the truth to this is dubious, as nobody but the most inside of insiders knows the full extent of this, but it's been relayed to me that the Broncos "hide" money in players contracts as a cap strategy. So every offseason when we hear about all of these cap restructurements, it's just the Broncos dipping into the hidden kitty. Like I say, nailing down the extent of truth on this would be dubious at best, but after years of examining this rumor on the sidelines, I think that there's some truth to it. |

What is Henry's injury history? I know he's had a bad string of them, familiar with him because of Fantasy Football, but what are the particulars? Is he an injury risk for the rest of his career?

Iīd be happy with Henry, but I donīt really want to lock a guy up long term as next yearīs RB Class could be absolutely epic.
