Fuentes, with a favorable call by the ump, gets a 1-2-3 ninth.

Sweet Sweep!

Yeah they got great value for Jennings. I have no problem with trading for talent. But in stories I read it was suggested by the Monforts they did it to get value instead of paying him later on. That thinking is what worries me about the real talent on this team when their rookie contracts expire. That is all I am saying. Again my favorite team is Boston and has been since I was 5 so I see an ownership that goes out and pays for talent to get better. So I don't like the opposite in the Monforts and what really made me hate them is how they plead to have the Yankees put back on the schedule so they could raise prices by 50%! I just lost it there. Did you know the Rox are the first team to charge ticket prices based on the opponent in baseball history. They started that in 2002 against the Yanks and did it against Boston a few years ago. Yet they still cut salary and refuse to pay for talent.

Just my .02 cents and I may be overly harsh, I just don't like the Monforts.

The Yankees get swept by the Rox great series by the home team! Back to being 10.5 back now for the Yanks.

I met Roger Clemens a few years back when he pitched here in Denver. After the game he was taking a charter plane back to Houston while the team went on to the next road series. He saw my Boston hat and started chatting about when he played in Boston what happened when he left Boston and about baseball in general. He is a pretty nice guy, even took some friendly ribbing about the Yanks. And the dude is Yoked!

Call me a bandwagon guy, I don't care. I'm so sporting the Rockies trucker hat I got a couple weeks ago against the St. Louis Cardinals with pride.

I have a feeling this run the Rox have put up in the last month are going to get a lot of fans back. I wouldn't call it bandwagon, just finally some good ball to watch and route for.

Well, following the Rockies has definitely been tough. But there is still a whole lot of season left, and they could end up winning 100 games, losing 100 games, or anywhere in between.

Still, it's great to see them playing like this - especially since they're doing it with a bunch of players that have come up through the minors together. I still really despise the Monforts, and believe Clint Hurdle is way over his head as a big league manager. But I would love nothing more than to be proven wrong.

I am not a great supporter of the Monforts or of Deal O'Doud. Hurdle is just a small time manager, as far as I can tell. But the talent they have is pretty good. Maybe the Jennings deal was the one good thing Old Dealing Dan did. Holladay is on a one year deal, so there will be some decisions made this coming off season. IF they are not the right ones, I think the Rockies will slip back into the lower half of mediocrity again.

But to get the sweep against the Yanks was good to see. How about that? Won the series against the Big Bad Crimson Sox, swept the Yanks and got up on the Giants a bit, and creeping up on the Dudgers.

Good month for the Rockies.....

The Rockies have been playing awesome. The first team I ever rooted for was the Reds, because I went to a ball game with my grandfather for the first time the year they won the World Series. Eric Davis was by far my favorite ball player. Once the Denver Zephers left town and the Rockies rolled in I began to follow them till I left Westminster. I couldn't believe the first game at Mile High against the Expos. I think the Rockies won 11-4 and had 3 or 4 homeruns with 2 coming in the first inning. Something like that.

I still follow the Rockies, but have had little to cheer about the last several years. We've only made the post season once in our history and consistenly finish below .500. Look at our payroll, always amongst the lowest in the majors despite years of being in the top 5 in attendance. Shameful. I'm glad they are currently playing great baseball.

BTW, anybody know what a Rockies Gold Card is?

The Madres got mauled by the Orioles this week. They got out pitched...out hit...out everything'd. The Blowhard Red Sox are up next. Some supreme pitching match ups in this series.

Friday....Chris Young Vs. Matsuzaka

Saturday....Greg Maddux Vs. Tim Wakefield

Sunday....Jake Peavy Vs. Josh Beckett

Three great pitching match-ups.

What hookers in the greater Denver area are blowing off the players before the games? This is unreal.

Good to see Rockies fans happy again!

Until Pendejo mentioned the Padres, I hadn't even looked at the standings - now just 3 1/2 games behind the Pads and Backs.

Nice job Rox. All week long here in NY on the radio they were pretty much guaranteeing at least 2 of 3 for the Yanks and a possible sweep. Saying this is the perfect time for the Yanks to be hot and play the lower level teams. Gotta love the Yankees getting swept by Colorado who are playing some great baseball right now.
