Dodgers getting blown out, Kuo sucked and putting Bombko in isn't making anything better.

...or wants to be a Sox fan.

I dislike the Red Sox more than any other team in baseball. It's strange, because up until three or four years ago, I would have listed them among the few teams (outside of the Rockies) I would always pull for.

Then, all of a sudden, you have everyone and their dogs wearing Red Sox garb, and talking about how they've been a fan all their lives. You have horrible, cutesy movies being made about them. And you have Bill Simmons (and nearly everyone else in the media, it seems) going on and on and on about them.

I will admit, though, that it's hard NOT to pull for them. The fact that they can even compete with a meager $143 million payroll is bordering on miraculous.

Dear Boston Red Sox fans,

We know your Red Sox didn't win a World Series in almost a century. We know you sold Babe Ruth. We know you've had some tough times. WE GET IT! We were happy for you when the Red Sox won in 2004. Now go away.

Signed,

The Average Baseball Fan

Dear whiny small market team fans,

We get that you dont like all the bandwagon fans that popped up after 2004. But when people like you generalize like you are right now its really frustrating. So deal with the fact that there are bandwagon fans and go away.

Why do you keep bringing up the whole small market thing? It's completely irrelevant.

Same here. I love seeing Boston get beat in fenway, especially by...GASP...the Yankees!

Easy test for Red Sox Bandwagon fans - ask them who Gator was.

Yeah...his bat should be nice. I read an article today that said the Madres are on the hook for only 700K of his contract.

I liked Bowen...he's a very serviceable catcher. A switch hitter who calls a solid game, and is good defensively. I'm not up on the minor leaguers like Bronco LB 52...but from what I've read Kyler Burke is a boom or bust type. He has a high ceiling, but to this point hasn't really gotten it going as a pro. (Although he was just drafted last year, and is only 18 or 19.)

On another board someone said that Cubs fans thought they were getting Scott Linebrink in the deal. Hah!

There's been rumblings that the Madres are talking to the Chi Sox about Jermaine Dye. I don't buy the Dunn rumors.

I doubt it will be anytime soon. Theo is going to lock him up like the rest of the young pitching staff that the Sox are developing. He a young power left hander that pitch in Fenway. Something we haven't had since Bruce Hurst (I know Hurst was "true" power pitcher).

Can Jeff Weaver pull off the impossible and pitch into the 5th inning?

Did the M's come across perhaps the worst pitcher in MLB, and he's on the other team (WHAT?)?

Did Mike Hargrove just experience an explosive bowel movement, and proceed to do nothing but stare?

Tune in next time for...ehhhhh ok I'm done.

Followed by a bad call by the home plate ump on a bang bang play at the plate.

Tavaras with an rbi single to give a 2 run lead.

Followed by a two run triple by Kaz Matsui. Make it 5-1.

Jeff Francis with another outstanding start tonight. 7 IP, 1 ER, 5 H, 1 BB, 9 K's.

Joe Torre really screwed his team tonight. Pettitte was done, but he didn't want to pull him because the pitcher's spot was due to lead off the next inning. He stuck with Pettitte far too long and the Rockies started teeing off on him. That's the kind of suckhead move I expect from Clint Hurdle.

Torre will be answering for that one to the 9000 reporters that surround him before and after games.
