If he's still alive the Madres should look in to signing him. They could use someone who can hit the ball anywhere.

The Tigers take 2/3 from the Phillies.

Maggs with another nice day. 2/3 with another 3 RBIs (64).

Has 33 doubles now. Average up to .371.

Prince Fielder hit his 25th home run of the season, but this one was an inside the parker for the 260 pounder. He's probably still catching his breath.

The Madres aren't as anemic offensively as they seem. They are just very streaky.

I think the Rockies have to be considered the top offensive team in the NL West...and they've only scored 11 more runs than the Madres (314-303)...while giving up 101 more (326-225).

Meh, you can't win every game, i'm satisfied with taking 2 of 3 from Tampa. Althoug Cook kinda got batted around there.
I think without the Padres fantastic pitching they've been getting, they'd probably be right around where the Rockies are.

Damn the baseball thread falling all the way to the bottom of the 2nd page. Well anyway I was just having this conversation with my brother about how A-Rod is the AL MVP right now but then we were wondering who would be the NL MVP.

Reyes? Miguel Cabrera? Holliday? Fielder? Peavy? Someone else?

Prince Fielder has to be the frontrunner at the moment with Jose Reyes and Jake Peavy right behind him.

They suspended Capps for three games instead of four for his accidental hitting of Fielder today, so he'll miss the Seattle series as a result. It's bullshat...the suspension should've been overturned entirely.

Prince is just having a tremendous season so far. I still have yet to see the inside the parker from yesterday. I can really say nothing bad about Fielder.

Turner South reported that Schilling was sent back to Boston for MRI on his pitching arm. Might explain some of the control issues. But wonder if Lester or the kid from Double AA would be likely candidates to replace him
