Denver is ranked #5. I'm not too sure about some of the rankings, as they seem to put a lot of weight on individual players, but it's nice to see us near the top. Last edited by mattob14; 02-15-2007 at 06:43 PM.. |

Yeah, half of me was impressed he put so much stock in o-linemen, the other half thought there was no way the pack had a better draft then us. I suppose that will be more obvious after next season, with cutler, big tony, and marshall having a full year to impress and hopefully kuper and hixon making a mark.

Don't think the Pack or Bears had better drafts than Denver. How many teams might have 4 starters next season to go along with another 2 players who will serious playing time from this draft?

The Packers had like 11 picks so more chance of getting them right and of having more contributors. It was definitely a great class but we will need to do the same thing with our defense this year to get back to the playoffs and go deep. |

Last years draft was a higher quality draft at the top than in a long time. There were more guys with starter quality grades than any draft I can remember.
This draft has a bunch of positions that have deep starter quality grades, just not a high number of overall players with starter grades. Really deep in DL, CB, S, and WR. It has the opposite feel of last year where OL, RB, QB, and LB were deeper classes than usual. Denver did a good job last year of getting the guys like Scheffler at TE, Dumervil @ DE, and Marshall at WR for awesome values in weaker classes. Scheffler may have been had later, but who is to say that another TE needy team did not have him that high either? |

It's great that we were able to hit on every pick save Hixon, but the real coup is that we traded our first away the year before which moved that option to a deeper more talented year. That's how we really raped the 'Skins. They forfeit their first in a deep class to reach for a QB in a weak one. We made off like bandits. It really is one of the best drafts we've had in some time. Many of us called it the best draft in memory on the same day. We are going to be fine. Losing DWill hurts but we can overcome it. Sucks tho.

It'd be different if I thought Levi Brown, Marshawn Lynch, Tedd Ginn Jr., or Robert Meachem would be available at #21 but I don't think that'll happen. So why overpick a guy when we can get good depth talent a round later and add great value to our '08 class? |
