Default Can Giant Balls Plug Erupting Volcano?

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,249442,00.html

If so, can this technique, which would consist of placing the gigantic balls in the mouth of the volcano, be effectively utilized by me, using any gigantic balls I might be able to lay my hands on, to prevent my wife from "erupting"?

It was their incompetence in the first place that led to it.

This is like stuffing a cork in a giant farthole.

These are supposed scientists simply making a even more catastrophic eruption inevitable.

No. It would just blow out the side of the volcano, like Mt. St. Helens did.
Look at films of that. The top of the volcano didn't go. The side went.
That made is more devastating, because the force of the blast went
sideways instead of straight up into the air. So think of where your wife
would erupt from if you plugged her mouth.

really dont think this would be a good Idea , I live near a active super volcano Yellowstone caldera , it seems plugging up a volcano would turn it into a super volcano or blow out the side as bronco Bob suggested ......... best to leave nature alone in that respects .........

They have a one hour special on the Yellowstone super volcano on the Discovery channel (I believe). If memory serves, they said it last erupted 300k years ago. There's another special, "The Year Without a Summer". It featured the US in 1812 (I think this is the year). It snowed in June in Virginia and there was very little crop production, creating mass starvation. This was also around the time of the potato famine in Ireland. The weather pattern was messed up around the world for about two years. It was all contributed to the last super volcano to erupt - and it was all the way in Indonesia!

When Yellowstone goes, everyone around the world will be affected.

The erupting volcano story reminds me of a Texaco disaster that happened on Lake Peigneur (disappearing lake)
