Default 950 The Fan: Broncos scouting defense in Mobile.

A poster from Broncomania posted she heard on the 950 The Fan that the Broncos were really interested in the defensive guys there. 950 had a reporter down there and he went onto add that the Broncos seemed to be really interested by Victor Abiamiri out of Notre Dame. Take it for what it's worth, but I thought I'd pass along the information to you guys.

Highly doubt that 950 sent a reporter down to Mobile, they've got people up in Aspen for the X-Games, and I don't ever recall them sending anyone anywhere for the Broncos in recent years.

If it was anyone, it'd be Jim Armstrong from the Post but I swear he was in studio a day or two ago.

Saying they're looking at D isn't much of a surprise.

Ah, I'm just posting what she heard. I think that Abiamiri is a logical pick since he's an lean and athletic guy like Jason Taylor. Maybe she heard it wrong, but at least it's encouraging to hear that we really liked a lineman. Which really doesn't mean **** now, but I thought it was worth posting.

yeah saying that denver is going defense is kind of a general statement that should(to most) be pretty obvious.

It was some guy named Cecil from FootballGuys.com or something. He didn't seem to know what he was talking about to me. I think he was just yakking.

Actually, if it's Cecil Lammey, he's a guy who has been to Mobile time and time again and is actually living in Littleton, Colorado right now. And actually, he works for 950 the fan according to the Football Outsiders website. Scott Wright and him are pretty good friends; and Lammey is usually a regular at Broncos camps.

Good point on Cecil. Don't know what he's doing on-air for 950 now, but he, Mike Evans, and a 3rd person do the "No BS Bronco Post-Game Show" right after the games end. Not a bad show, but it seems like they draw straws ahead of time to see who gets to be the dumb ass this week. Mike Evans is the one that loses most of the time.

He was just a guest. Probably getting free beers over a JD's Bait Shop

Yep. I've met him there and he's knowledgable. When I talked to him I had a sense that his "speciality" was more on the OL than anywhere.

Well if the broncos are talking to him, it mean that kid ain't coming to Denver. When was last time Denver let the draft choice know they were interesting in him

I have not seen Cecil Lammey this week, but I really have not been looking for non-nfl types. Plus, I have been sick as a dog the last two days and missed a lot of the thursday and FRI crap that is more schmoozing to say the least. The weather down here has been so up and down all week too, that hanging around afterwards has been the last thing on my mind.

As for the Broncos, they have talked to a bunch of guys on both sides of the ball, just like everyone else. Most of the guys like Scott Wright have to try and cover ALL the teams for their site, but I am not bound by that I hope to have a report listed by early next week on my week in Mobile. I took some great notes and I hope you all will appreciate it. I would have done something earlier if I was not as sick as I have been. See you guys later, I have to go eat and get to the stadium.

FYI...

Aparently the Broncos were talking to Ray McDonald and Patrick Willis.

Thought Slap might appreciate that.

A prime example of why this site, and more importantly, its contributing members continue to be the class of sports information on the internet.

It kills me that teams don't consider sites like this a viable media source...with all the perks that go with that. Very short-sighted of them.

If I owned the Broncos, I would issue two media passes to the Mane...and then have Taco round-robin the use of them among the contributing members that have proven their willingness to invest time, enery, and dollars.

Teams need to realize where their hard core fan base really is and find ways to cater more to that group. They need to understand that those hard core groups are no longer avid ESPN watchers or SI readers. Times have changed and teams need to understand that.

Med's the best analyst on the site. Get better.

P.S. Are you going to be publishing your defensive analysis from last season, or is that going to someone who can really use it?
