Justin Smith is ranked way to low, McIntosh is better than many OTs they have over him. Lot of other smaller problems, but that really sticks out.

Pick up Dom Rhodes for nothing else but his knowledge of the Colt playbook.

The Colt playbook would be worthless without Peyton Manning to run it.

I'd rather we spent FA money on OT S backup QB and focus draft on DE DT RB. This way we avoid overpaying on DL FA esp DE.

I like the Idea of signing Stincomb from the Saints then trading Foster. Then go after defensive lineman like Grant,Smith or Holliday. Maybe sign Chis Kelsay from Buffalo .Bucannon also might be a cheap free agent to replace DW.

The first two have been pursued by the Broncos in the past, and the third is wishful thinking.

The guys I think the Broncos have the most realistic shot at getting that would help the team from that list would be:

12 Daniel Graham TE 6-3 257 7.6 Unrestricted New England (would be an upgrade over Alexander and the team could still use two TE sets with Scheffler)

13 Patrick Kerney DE 6-5 273 8.4 Unrestricted Atlanta (if healthy, plus Broncos just hired his position coach from Atlanta)

19 Damon Huard QB 6-3 218 4.9 Unrestricted Kansas City(might look to start someplace, but a good option)

20 Jamal Lewis RB 5-11 245 7.5 Unrestricted Baltimore(Shanahan tried one before)

27 Ian Scott DT 6-3 302 7.3 Unrestricted Chicago (underrated player)

54 Justin Griffith RB 5-11 232 6.8 Unrestricted Atlanta( I've always liked this guy)

74 Peter Sirmon LB 6-2 237 6.9 Unrestricted Tennessee (could start at SLB and move Williams back to WLB or at least, quality backup)

90 Donnie Spragan LB 6-3 242 6.7 Unrestricted Miami( might try to bring him back)

97 Rien Long DT 6-6 300 6.7 Unrestricted Tennessee(if healthy, is a good pass rusher from the DT spot)

There are others from the list I like, but I think only chance the Broncos have of getting them is convincing them to take less others can and will offer to sign with them.

Jarred Allen, Justin Smith, Charles Grant, Dwight Freeney, Patrick Kerney, Randy Starks....

Big names, i'm not sure how we'd get any of them though.

Personally, I think a D-line starts from the inside out. Randy Starks is wishful thinking, but a DT is critical. Obviously the loser we have paid to play DT right now aint gettin it done.

I'm pretty sure he was thinking about knowledge to be past to the Defense.

One solid FA and a good draft would be nice. I can't see Denver dropping the coin for a top FA D lineman.

It would be nice to see these guys here, except with Freeney, i would like to get a someone a little bigger, that is the problem everyone has had with our line this year, no use bringing in another small DL.
Turner could be good, has power and explosive but does anyone know if he can carry the ball all season, by week 4 he will have had more carries than he had all last season.
And as for the QB's, it would be nice to land either, but i thinik those 2 might get looks as possible starters after the seasons they put up.

Justin Smith is still the best of the bunch. Do you want a guy like Freeney who is now picking his spots to play hard during the year?

Smith is consistent and he can give you between 8-14 sacks and a lot of tackles. He had 50 solos from the DE spots and he is usually getting between 45-50 every season... has never been hurt. You just know what you are going to get with that guy which is a high motor effort and solid performances. He can be an every down starter.

I love Michael Turner but we won't give up our 1st rounder to a division rival for him. We can sit and wait a year on him and SD won't be able to keep him. Patience in this situation will pay off. I do like him a lot though.

Ryan Long is an underated DT with pass rushing ability but he missed all of last season. I like his potential but he has to be signed to an incentive laden deal.

Charles Grant has great upside. Tough to say which way he will go though. He coudl get better. It is a little bit more risky than Smith though.

I love Daniel Graham, he is one of my favorite targets coming out. I think he is a definite upgrade over Alexander.

I also like Gurode coming out of CU as well. I think he can help us in the run game.

I really think Warren is getting a bad rap because he played hurt this year. I know a toe doesn't seem like much, but at the size these guys are, and the fact that leverage plays such an important part of their job, a hurt toe can linger and really effect a guys play. I would like to see a quality player next to Warren on the inside however, rather than Myers who can eat up blockers but do little else.

I also think Jamal Lewis is a very strong possiblity. I don't like it, but we went after him last year, and it seems Shanny is interested in a big back fo next year.

I beat Rambo in the 300 IM hurdles in the state championships back in '95. I took fourth in the face, but my times would have won a number of states in the nation. California is the toughest track state. I must have been in the top 20 in the nation that year.

I Hope the first guy the Broncos bring in is Stincomb from the saints. The Huddle report rants him the best offensive tackle in free agent market. Then Broncos trade Foster for a 4 rounder. Then go after the best defensive lineman they can get or safety like Hamlin. Then just sign cheap players like Bucannon to replace DW and Northcutt to return punts.

I think we've got to start thinking about addressing the safety situation. We've got Brandon tabbed as a potential successor to Ferguson, but what about bringing in some youth under Lynch? Michael Lewis is going to be released by Philadelphia, and Archuleta is not content in Washington. Others...?
