This is a great statement, anyone know when it was said and who said it?
"In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person's becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American...There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag... We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language... and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."

I'm fairly certain that quote is from Teddy Roosevelt, however, I cannot find a good attribution during a cursory search.

Yeah so ?
fine line of telling people to forget their hertiage and being un American .........
It is like this , I dont have a problem with people flying a flag of another country , as long as it is under the American flag or next to one ..........
Hell in texas they fly the texan flag over the American flag ............
I hate the rebel flag also , I concider anyone that flies a rebel flag a traitor ......
What makes these people any different then any other immigrant?
and yes alot of texans concider themselfs texans first and foremost , People that fly the rebel Flag concider themselfs part of a confederacy .........
