Blast hits U.S. Embassy compound in Athens
POSTED: 12:34 a.m. EST, January 12, 2007 Adjust font size: ATHENS, Greece (CNN) -- An explosion shook the U.S. Embassy in Athens, Greece, on Friday morning, an embassy staff member told CNN. No injuries were initially reported. State-run NET television, quoting police, first reported the explosion occurred inside the main embassy building on the third floor, but the network later said police told them the explosion happened outside the building. The staff member did not give details on the cause, size or scope of the blast, but local media reported it occurred about 5:55 a.m. (10:55 p.m. ET). Police cordoned off streets around the embassy after the blast, causing a near-standstill of traffic during morning rush hour. The embassy in Athens was the target of a rocket-propelled grenade attack on February 15, 1996. That attack caused minor damage. Tools: Save | Print | E-mail | Most Popular |

People don't even know the MO of "Coversion" to Islam. I'm constantly amazed by the ignorance.
Christians have been fighting for their very existence for centuries. Just in my lifetime Christians have been exterminated in Lebanon, Sudan and other countries? We would be worshiping Islam if there were not the Crusades. They had reached the pyranees in Spain. There is a calculated infiltration in France, England, and USA prisons. People don't have a clue about the mindset or ultimate goal. Maybe the fact they can lop off a head without blinking might give you a clue. Or hand, or foot, or take his wife, ect. You have to pray 7 times a day on a rug for Christ sake. That is nothing but theocracracy. We can go to a knee but we don't have to bang our heads off a carpet all the time. We bow our heads, and will drop to a knee at a funeral. I know what is going on, because I know history. |

This attack was nothing more than an uncivilized idiot that knew how to pull a trigger and had a weapon.

into Europe at the battle of Tours in 732. The Crusades didn't start until 1095, over 300 years later, and were largely a failure in their goal to oust Muslims from the Holy Lands. So if you want to thank anyone for Europe remaining Christian, thank the French. |

Sorry guys you are a little off for this particular topic. This looks like a copy cat group of the former November 17, a former Greek terrorist group that was very anti-American and anti-British. It is unfortunate but it's not hard to find anti-American sediment in most countries these day. In this case it's not a Islam issue as Greece is 98% Greek Orthodox Christians!

Even though Turkey is trying to get into the EU they continue to treat the non-Islamic population as trash and the world community turns a blind eye as they are "allies" in the region. Islam itself as a religion has killed more Christians and Hindu than most people know. You are correct watermock if you know your history you know what's really going on in the world. |

I think we need to institute some sort of playoff system to have some of these groups eliminate each other from the various brackets before they get to take their shots.

You are right about that. There are more that hate us and how much we have and work than like us. But if you give them the opportunity to be like us they grab it in a heart beat.

Glad noone was hurt.
If it occured before 6am, I wonder if it was some sort of "warning"? Reality is, if whomever did this was really trying to kill more people, wouldn't they have chosen another time of day where more people would be at the embassy? |
