Default Shanny's DC Candidates

Potential candidates coach Mike Shanahan might consider to replace Coyer are former Miami interim coach Jim Bates, former Atlanta coach Jim Mora and Denver secondary coach Bob Slowik.

If it is Slowik... we are going to be worse than ever

Slowik has been a defensive coordinator for Chicago (1993 to 1998), Cleveland (1999) and Green Bay (2004). Shanahan also has previously tried to hire former Jacksonville special teams coach Pete Rodriguez as a defensive coordinator.

Rodriguez, considered by many in the league to be a potential addition to the Broncos staff because of Shanahan's unhappiness with special teams play, was fired by the Jaguars at the end of the season.

Mora or Bates would be fantastic. Either of them tossed in with Rodriguez for ST would be an orgasmic triumph.

I'd love to have Mora.

Maybe Bowlen could Dan-Snyder some $$ to Rex Ryan and have him leave the Ravens!

I hope they don't hire Rodriguez as the DC, ST but not DC... Bates would be bring a nice spark to our D

Rob Ryan (aka the only reason the Raiders won 2 games) may also be available, assuming he doesn't get the head gig in Oakland. Plus, it would be another opportunity for Shanahan to stick it to Al Davis' corpse.
