Here are the grades, and Baltimore's Trevor Pryce was off the chart as you can see. Rex Ryan, who coaches the Ravens' defense, told me he was the best defensive player in football this year. "He can do it all," Ryan said, "except get picked to the Pro Bowl." Naturally, they stiffed him. By the way, a lower grade does not in any way mean I'm downgrading the player. The guys listed are my finalists, the ones I thought were the best.
http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/200...ll.pros/2.html He had 13 sacks this season? 13 ****ing sacks? Are you kidding me? We let go of a 6'5", 290 pound DE who had 13 sacks? WTF ![]() |

Pryce played well. Good for him. And I have no problem with a team's staff pimping their own players.

It is moves like this that must make our front office cringe. Here you have teams trading 1st round picks to pick up guys like John Abraham because getting pressure on the QB is at a premium in this league and the Broncos just let go of a four time probowler for free. And not only do they let go of him for free, he jacks up 13 sacks for his new team.
That is incompetence. Period. |

Hey, Gonzadouche, that bonghitting peckerhead made it clear he didn't want to play here anymore. Maybe you didn't notice him sleepwalking through his last couple seasons in Denver. Should the Broncos have brought you in to give him daily rimjobs to change his mind? |

even more ignorant is him sitting here and calling pryce a DE, he wouldn't move to tackle for us...and @ de, he wasnt getting pressure worth ****...many noted he'd be a great tackle if he'd move back, but he WOULDN'T. he only moved to tackle when he switched teams. He'd have had his normal foster like games here had he stayed and played DE for us

How in the heck do you know that Pryce wanted out? Did he come out to the media with it? Stop making stuff up. I think you are confusing a terrible scheme + a back injury for guy not wanting to be in Denver anymore. He has been here is whole career, loves the area, built a house and wants to retire here but he wanted to leave? Yea, that makes complete sense. Sleepwalking through his last couple of seasons? Could it have been the system? Its not as if Larry Coyer is known for getting pressure on the QB with his d-line. I think Pryce put it as, "he wants us to be blocking dummies." |

Perhaps playing on a defensive line where he wasn't the main guy helped. Maybe.
Just a guess. |

The awards part is pretty speculative IMO.
Trevor had a great season and his versatility to play inside and outside is valuable. Any anyone that watched our DL play this season has to be a bit sad we let him go. The salary cap wasn't even an issue once we got the bump from the league and the new CBA. |

To assert the cap wasn't an issue is absurd. We didn't even bother trying to trade him.

Who says he would have done the same for us? Based on his production in 2005 the decision to dump him and not pay him the 9m was right.

The argument by the members of the DL was that they were forced to play assignment football last year because of all the blitzing. This year we were gonna turn the DL loose a little more with stunts and what not -- a DL man's dream. So, I agree with your point. I wonder what this season could have held for Trevor if he stayed. I would have especially liked to have him rushing from the DT position on passing downs as Warren is a sissy. |

He was cut at a rather curious time -- BEFORE the new CBA. The league did not expect to get a jump in cap space and Trevor was an easy victim to save a ton of money. That's at least part of the reason the deal went down that way. I think had they waited until the CBA got sorted out they may have tried to do something else like work out a restructure or trade him.

Let's see, Pryce goes on to have 13 sacks. Why? Why does he succeed in Baltimore but was a complete bust under Coyer?
Gee, maybe our DC really does suck. |

The guy plays hard when he wants to play hard. Period.
He'll be dogging it in Baltimore, too, just as soon as somebody there does something to hurt his feelings. |

Have fun, troll.
This is going to be great. Now all the people who constantly shithammered Trevor while he was here - under different defensive coordinators mind you - are going to bemoan his loss now. Its amazing some of these people can even sit upright at a computer and post this drivel without any discernable backbone. Last edited by -Slap-; 01-05-2007 at 05:09 PM.. |

The fact that it was a weak spot on our roster is definitely the most troubling part. What's worse, one has to conclude that they didn't believe the DL would be a problem or they likely wouldn't have done it. I think they honestly thought that Warren and crew were gonna get it done. That's what's scare to me. |
