It was announced on the local news here tonight, so if you live in the Dallas-Fort Worth area or even if you don't and want to attend Darrent's funeral, I just thought I'd pass on the info that was released on the local news this evening. He will be burried this Saturday. I hesitate to give the location on the net since this appears to be a very small church and I'm not sure they could handle or would want to handle a ton of phone calls with everything else they have to do. I certainly don't want to post their contact information where it could potentially be abused. But if you're serious about going, PM me and I'll send it to you. I'm sure that his family would appreciate any Bronco fans show of caring support.

The OM should do something... I'm in Denver right now but I'll be headed back to DFW on Thursday. I don't know.. I might be able to take something by if anyone wants me too.

Footsteps, I'm in Arlington and may attend depending on the time. I have my resources to get the information. Let me know if you're going as well.

I'll write the media relations guy for the Broncos tomorrow (a former intern works for the Mavs, I'll ask him as well) about attendance and if there would be an opportunity to present flowers/check to the family on behalf of the fans from the Orangemane. I found the address for the funeral online tonight. Just needing to see about the time.

As most everyone has, including myself, he had intention of returning to Fort Worth to help youth stay out of gangs. Maybe a charity of that sorts or even gang prevention charities in Denver.

I'm in DFW as well. I was thinking about going, but didn't want to look like some ahole just dropping in because I was a fan of his. I'm still not sure if I'll go yet, I think it's a real delicate issue. If people are going, maybe we can get a spot to meet at first and go over together so we're not just trickling in.

On the Denver Broncos Website they list the email address you can send a letter to and they will forward it to the Broncos Organization and DW's familly.

I read this morning the Broncos will be chartering a plane to the funeral. I am doubting it will be open the public, but I don't really know. That would be cool if you guys could make it and show the support of his fan base.

If you have a DW Jersey, wear it over your shoulder or on the arm. JMO.
Wear a dark suit or jeans and a white shirt. For God's sake, don't wear a Bronco's hat. |

I am not sure what makes some assume they would be welcome. Why not let friends and family have their own day without a bunch of Johnny Randoms that never met the guy.

I guess it's a small church...nothing wrong with waiting outside altho it might be snowy...
They will let, as a general rule, standing room in a smaller church. This hit us hard. |

Just Classic. I doubt a swarm will descend on the funeral dimwit. If it's full, they can go to the internment. I wouldn't worry about it all that much. Zach.

I think sending cards/letters/flowers, whatever would be appropriate. I'm sure as the funural arrangements get made there will be a statement as to what charity to send money to in lieu of flowers.

Its an odd situation. I kind of side with Zach, i wouldnt go unless i was sure it was going to be ok with his direct friends and family.
