Default Overachievers in '05, Underachievers in '06

Following our loss in the AFCC Game last year, Terrell Davis said that he thought the Broncos overachieved to make it as far as they did. I thought he was a little off-base. That team earned each of their victories.

But this year, I can't help but think this team massively underachieved due to the fact they choked in pressure situations on defense and failed to make plays consistently enough on offense to sustain a push to get into the playoffs.

I hope this humbling loss to SF, missing the playoffs, and maybe most importantly, DWill's untimely and unfortunate death will help this team realize that opportunities to do great things in life don't happen every day. You have to make the most of each chance you get in life.

Maybe next year, this team will come into the season hungry to prove that they belong amongst the big boys and will reach the Super Bowl.

It's going to be a looooooong offseason, but as a life-long Broncos fan, I know I will be fired up for 2007 come August.

Go Broncos!

Maybe individuals over- or underachived. But 9-10 wins is what I had them pegged at before the season, their unaddressed defensive issues from '05 came back and bit them in the ass again this year.

The team had a +23 TO differential in 2005. That was what made the season. It's difficult to have +23 back-to-back. So the team did overachieve in 2005, and this year the reality strikes where it's clear without a huge TO differential and health and luck the team dropped out of the top ten.

Ah well, best wishes to Darrent Williams' family, and may luck be with them.

Which means that without the critical injuries they were probably more like an 11 win team.

Mike Bell. I think the guy is going to be a star. He needs about gain about 10 pounds this off season, if he does he will be BIG TIME.

Only if he can do it without losing any speed, He is already slow enough. Any faster would have been a touchdown on his long run yesterday.
