Default Playoff Scenario-Chiefs lose early we are in

We should know before our game starts if we are in or not (KC plays in the morning). Will this change Shanny's game plan? Below from ESPN.

Denver can clinch a playoff berth with:

1. A win or tie

Or

2. A Kansas City loss or tie

they had better take a page out of the Herm Edwards quote library and "play to win the game"--plus I'll be at Invesco for the 1st time this season and I want to see Cutler rip some Sh*& up!!!

if the overtime period is scoreless, the game is a tie.

I agree with play to win the game, but I would love to see a little ease up on the pressure. I doubt it would change Shannahans game plan, but it would let the players go out and have a little more fun if they knew the playoffs were a done deal.

There is no losing against SF. We are twice the team they are and all we need to do is show that on the field. We need to go three and four wides and let Cutler slice them up. They are painfully thin on the defensive line and in the defensive backfield. We need to run them through.

I will always pull for KC to lose. They never deserve to have a championship there. Ever.

I'll say this again, Denver and Baltimore pose the biggest threat to SD. Indy, NE, and even the Jets will all get flogged badly against them. I feel confident in us getting another crack at SD and winning at their place.

The KC-Jax matchup is going to be a good one this week. I think Jax is going to win by a squeaker, but it wont put them in the postseason.

That game will mean nothing once the Broncos beat SF. More likely an NFC game with playoff implications. Giants?

if this were a "normal" season and kc lost. shanny would probably rest the qb and the running backs and wr's. but since cutler needs the work, our so called starting running back floundering, and our 2nd best reciever also learning on the job,if we get up big, look for only the rookies to play the entire game. its not like we would have a bye to get stale on, and watching walker get hurt twice last week makes me say save'em.

Broncos win they likely go to New England

Broncos lose, and Chiefs lose, they likely go to Indy.

Who would you rather the Broncos face right now. I can't decide. I almost feel like I would love to have a crack at the Colts. The Pats are playing great right now. The Colts have no run defense, and without Dallas Clark are suffering from no 3rd option in that offense.

I don't know.

A 9-7 team really doesn't belong in the playoffs anyway. We need to win this game.

Proof the NFC is the horrid, toothless crackwhore of the NFL...a 7-9 team could potentially reach the playoffs.

I agree, though the Broncos could win and still end up facing the Colts if the Colts lose to Mami and the Pats beat the Titans. The way both these teams are playing, that is a possibility.

Either way, I am ecstatic that Cutler will most likely get playoff experience early in his career.

That would put both the colts and pats at 11-5, right? Indi would still be the three seed in that instance.

nah, that would put the Colts at 11-5 and the Pats at 12-4. Both teams are 11-4 right now. If the Colts lose and Pats win then the Pats are the 3 seed.

I really want the Chiefs to win so that their record will worsen their draft status and they'll still miss the playoffs.

yep. id also just assume the chargers and raiders win out although marty finally winning in the playoffs might vie SD a little too much confidence.
