Default Why do people have kids and then complain about them?

I'm not sure that this is the correct forum for this but I suppose it is tied into religion politics etc.

I was watching the news the other day and the story was about the hardships people are going thru at Christmas etc. They were showing the hardships of families with alot of kids etc.

Now I don't have kids but if and when I do I plan on being prepared to have them. I know in this day and age it's not uncommon to end up with twins/triplets (spider) but atleast he doesn't complain about the kids like alot of people.

I have alot of pets and to be honest I wouldn't even take on another horse/dog at this point without serious concideration.

This isn't even meant to be an abortion thread although I can see it ending up being one.

My main gripe of this thread is directed at those who wanted kids who damn well knew they couldn't take care of them and still had more!

Take a second to think about families you know around you and how much they gripe about the kids, the expense, the challenges etc. Why do people insist on doing this?

If we could track the amount these dead beat parents cost our government it would be astronimical. Rant over.

Am I alone here?

Kids ..................some of the things they do ............. you love em to death , cherish memories you make with them , but there are times you could just strangle them , like when my 12 year old was 8 , got in my pick up started it , put it in gear and drove through my Garage door going to see grandma , my daughter used a entire shaker of salt to make dinner , my 5 year old running down a hallway of a motel shouting we are homeless ...........
or when I pulled up to the pick up window @ McDonalds and my 12 year old asked if they accepted food stamps ..............funny now but wasnt to funny when they pulled these stunts .........

Thats pretty good.

Spider as you know I wasn't referring to you in the thread. I know you had a good balance going and life threw you for a curve but you've overcome. Heck my sister has 1 kid and to her suprise she has twins on the way but I know she will take care of them like you have yours.

I'm talking about people on welfare, young kids having kids, or people to irresponsible to even use contraception who later complain "I can't deal with the kids and can't afford to take care of them".

I read somewhere recently that a freakin dog can cost up to 40k over it's lifetime. Not sure where I read that. Seems a bit high but I do have a 16 year old Begal spaniel. That's alot of kibbles and bits, bones, vet visists, grooming fees (yeah I spoil her) but that's my choice.

I'm starting to think my thread isn't going to go too far. I seriously doubt those people that complain about their kids are going to drop a post and explain why. lol

Actually it's not Broncos families I'm talking about. We take care of our kids. It's the chief/raider fans that buy game tix while their kids are eating rice everyday. Bob being the exception. It's obvious his parents didn't starve him. Well maybe just mentally. lmao

I agree with you Meck. Kids are a blessing and creating them and caring for them should be treated as such.

So how can we as citizens of this great country see to it that more kids are taken care of by their parents?

Welfare doesn't work. My old man use to tell my stories that back in the day families would have more kids just so they could get a larger check. I'm not sure how it works now. I hopes that isn't the case?

Is there a way to reward young women/young couples to not have children? Maybe with a discount at a state college? Or is that too radical?

I'm just throwing out ideas here.

Indeed. It's easy for me to say "Some people shouldn't have kids" but keep inmind I'm talking about those people that have complained to me about them so I feel entitled to rip on them.

I guess the problem with rewarding young people with "School credit" is penalizing those who do have kids that might actually be good young parents. I know a few who have done well. I emphasize the word "few". Most everyone I know who had kids back in highschool or a bit later is the group I'm referring to as the complainers.

We've had so many discussions about illegal immigration and the burden it creates but I'd be willing to bet the neglect of our own Amercian children is 10 times worse. If not 100 times.

I don't know the answer Meck. Seems to me just too many unwanted kids having more unwanted kids. Too many 15 year old mothers and 30 year old grandmothers. I guess they are just looking for love, but are not mature enough to handle the responsibility.

Why do people take jobs and b**** about the work?

Why do people live in a certain area and complain about the traffic/weather/&c?

Why do people get married and then b**** about their spouse?
