Your just plain wrong. It DID snow more in Littleton, and people had managed to dig out one lane in most streets after two weeks. Once the plows finally came thru, they completely buried cars that had been dug out.

For weeks the fast lane simply ended into a snowbank. 24 inches in 24 hours is fine but the storm lasted two days, then it got bitter cold. I love your 9 near old memory. It doesn't really matter to me arguing with someone who was barely out of diapers at the time.
I'm just disappointed you didn't use the word dimwit in your response. Bottom line, you were wrong, 24 inches of snow fell in Denver in the Blizzard of 82, and some suburbs were +- 4inches, but it was nowhere near 48 inches in Littleton, an ATTACHED suburb. Look it up. I'm not relying on my memory as a 9 year old, I used to be into weather. You were demonstrably wrong on everything you said in that post except McNichols' downfall. That's par for the course. Anyway, no point in going on and interrupting this blizzard thread. Done and done.

You're wasting your time, SprintRightOption. Mock is in one of his moods where he thinks he looks really smart yelling at a guy for something he didn't say.

Just checking in from "the north pole". This "thing" has me laughing everytime I look out of the window.
I had to got out to the south side of the house to clean the dish. The drift between my house and the fence is over six feet deep. The dogs had to walk down into their dog housse when they went out to do their business this morning.
Absolutely amazing! I think it may take days to shovel my way out. I love this, and I hope it's keeps the warm weather folks from moving here.
I was at the mall yesterday and it was absolutely hilarious watching people with two wheel drive cars who thought it was a good idea to venture out and about attempting to get out of their parking space. All of them should make an appointment to have their heads examined.

Anybody have pictures?

This storm that is hitting you guys came through Amarillo, Tx a couple days ago. It left A LOT of ice on everything, but only 4 or 5" of snow. Lost a lot of trees in our neighborhood. Ice was 2" thick on most trees. Put it to you this way, my car was under a tree when I woke up yesterday morning. Actually, not a tree, just a really big branch. The icesicles (sp?) on the houses are up to 4 feet long! I need to take pictures of them when I get home. Here's a picture of my car though... SUCKS!

Hey locals!!! Anybody have first hand info about the Lincoln Ave and West parker road area. Passable or not with 4 wheel drive I have to make a trip down from westminster and need to go south on the "old west parker road" to a plant I'm currently building. Any info would be appreciated.

Just made it to work.......Nissan Frontier 4X4. If you dont have chains or 4 wheel drive don't even think about it, this is one of the worst I've seen in Denver. Had to put it in 4 low and floor it to get out of our subdivision, once on the main roads & freeway it was simple. Problem is many of the off ramps are not plowed, I would have taken the county line road exit off I 25 south. It was not plowed and the 470 west exit was still a mess. I went all the way down to Lincon where I 25 is shut down and took back roads up to county line road.

It's not quite as bad at my house in Westminster. The wife and I had prepared 17 gift baskets for the holidays, but did not get them delivered, so we have plenty of "goodies" to eat. In fact, gift baskets to anyone who will come by and help shovel. I'll even make a batch of "hot buttered rum" to keep us warm.

First, Littleton got more snow than Denver. Second, 24 inches was in 24 hours. The storm was over two days.

It's wonderful that someone 9 at the time can correct me. It snowed 48 inches in littleton and the idiea that main roads were "clear" is ludicrous. They had become barely passable after two weeks with residential roads mostly dug out by residents.
we get the point already
