Thats a great point Llama. Someone needs to say being a leader and bigger man means walking away and being there for the next game. Now we don't see him until after Christmas. And ESPin is just eating this up.

They fell into the stands, they didn't run into them to scrap with fans. Bit of a difference there.

Funny, that part of it started because Nate Robinson threw a punch at JR Smith, yet no one is talking about that.

NO they did not go into the stands AFTER the fans. Melo never went into the stands. JR got slammed into the stands by midget Nate Robinson. You can't call that going into the stands.

That might explain why Carmelo lost his head. Still doesn't justify it.

Thank you! Little punk Robinson threw punches and raised his fists to JR. He should get just as big a suspension for starting the mele. Now he is on TV looking like Webster talking like its all on Denver. Jared Jeffries is a punk too talking about a sucker punch. Man what babies.

...that was a "haymaker"............what? I guess Stern could suspend him for "attempting" a punch.

Dooling "threw" a punch at Allen too...I imagine that this suspension will be similar.

Exactly, Melo threw a slap. Now they are talking about it spiling into the fans. That is on Webster Robinson he body slammed JR into the stands. He better get the big suspension for taking it into the crowd.

It doesnt matter much how they got there, they ended up swinging and wrestling in the laps of the patrons.

It will be talked about. The observer misses it in the images at first because it is a peripheral event that occurs at the bottom of the screen while you watch other people jawing at center camera.

Anthony's slap will be talked about because the fracas was settling down a bit before Anthony decided to slap Collins and escalate it again.

Isiah does have a point though, why were Melo and Camby still out there?

I definately agree Melo escalated it. Damn he just needed to walk away. Webster Robinson better get a suspension for taking the fight into the stands.

Ask George Karl. The players don't pick and choose when they leave the game.

Still, regardless of who's on the floor, it doesn't justify Isiah sending one of his scrubs in there to put a flagrant foul on someone.

I just watched the video again, and you cant fault Jeffries there, he's trying to push Anthony back away from the fight, and his hand slides up his jersey.

Anthony slapped Collins because of what he did to Smith.

If that's true, and at this point it's all speculation, then he did the wrong thing for the right reason. He was standing up for a teammate, fine. But getting himself suspended over it is bad for the team.

Wise up, young man.

Or an old Detroit Pistons special. They used to pull that kind of garbage all the time back in Isiah's playing days.

Oh come on...Nate didn't throw a punch. He was talking **** and acting tough but he didn't throw a punch. Robinson's been a bit of a hothead since he's entered the league, though...

Well Collins clearly wasn't aware that Melo was taking a swing at him.

Here's my un-biased summary:

1. Collins foul
2. JR Smith reacts
3. Robinson pulls Smith away
4. Robinson provokes Smith further
5. Robinson and Smith go into the stands
6. b****-fight ensues

No, he did throw a punch at him while someone was pulling JR away. That's why JR reacted the way he did. Watch it again.

These guys might get unfairly suspended:
Najera
Camby
David Lee
Jeffries
Channing Fyre
Andre Miller

I couldnt see anyone else. Nene came off of the bench, so he might be suspended.

To be fair, Collins should get the punishment for the flagrant 2 / ejection, but he didnt do anything but defend himself and stand out of the way by Bavetta during the madness.

These guys will certainly be suspended, and probably with severeness in this order:
1. Nate Robinson
2. Carmelo Anthony
3. JR Smith

I've watched it 4 times, and I just can't call that a punch. That's a shove to the chest, at worst. JR reacted the way he did because this little 5-8 man was playing the tough guy...

Regardless, I'm sure Nate will get nailed as well for escalating.

At about the 1:30 mark. Robinson shoves JR, Lee is pulling JR away and Robinson throws a right hand at him. That's where things popped off.

Either way I agree Melo, JR, and Webster will get suspensions. I think Webster deserves one just as high as Melo/JR. He is the reason this thing took off.

Isiah deserves a suspension as well since he and his players have basically admitted that he sent Collins out there to throw a hard foul.
