Over on Broncomania they had an interview with Jeremy Green and this was posted. Any ideas on what they're talking about? Might we see a different CB getting a shot this week?
Brett (LA): JG! Looks like Darrant Williams is a no-go this week. How much trouble will denver have with the AZ passing game? Jeremy Green: (3:40 PM ET ) This might be a blessing in disguise. Darrent Wiliams has not covered anyone for the past month. He is getting abused. Denver does not get pressure and Coyer won't blitz, so yes, they are going to have a lot of issues with the Card receivers this week. |

For every decent play Darrent makes...he always seems to have 5 more screwups...

I give Williams 2 more years to improve. The guy has a lot of heart and big play skills. Playing opposite of Champ has probably hurt him come game time since teams don't look Champ's way. But given some time to adapt, and with the time spent working with Champ and learning from him in practice, Williams could be a dominant CB.
Couple that with the ineptitude of our DL, and you can't be too hard on Williams. The most concerning thing to me about his play is that sometimes, when he already has good position, he doesn't make the play on the ball. That needs to improve. |

D Will has had some big plays, but he strikes me as too arrogant. That arrogance may have been due after a couple more years of development, but he has struck me as a bit of a punk this year, willing to call out others but a lot less willing to admit his own shortcomings.

I'm thinking the guy is having a sophomore slump. Corner backs are especially susceptible to this.

I just saw on the bottom line that DWILL is listed as Questionable (TOE) for the game.

I'm sure Foxworth will do wonders against Boldin/Fitz.

Good time to put Foxworth over there to see what he can do.
I have seen him get toasted bad before too. AFC Championship Game. If we don't pressure the QB, it won't matter who we have in there. |

Foxworth has his issues in coverage as well, anyone would without decent pass rushers to take time away from the offense.
My hope is that this results in Paymah getting a shot at safety though, I think thats where he really belongs. |

I can't remember but I think Paymah was the highest pick of the 3 and needs to step up.

In the Denver post it said his toe was getting worse. I think he or Shanny will use it as an excuse to let him get his act together then slowly reinsert him back into line up once he has his confidence back.
I just hope that he does not pull a Tank Johnson & have a SWAT team at house any time soon. i.e. I hope they are not hiding off-field trouble. |

DWill is a great player. He is great at making you appreciate having Champ Bailey on your team.

Darrent is not as bad as he has looked out there the last several weeks.
Champ is special....he can make do out there with very little pass rush. Darrent and Foxworth, or whoever we put out there on the other side needs some semblance of a pass rush or they will get toasted. |

The most impressive thing DWill has done this year thus far was putting his hair into a mohawk for TV face time.....he far from impresses me, as anyone at the SD game last week can tell you

For one I would like to get a legit secondary coach who will realize that D-will can't play the same style that Champ does. He needs to focus on the WR and play the traditional CB method instead of trying to mirror champ.

That doesn't give me good feelings about Paymah covering Bryant Johnson one on one when they go 3 WR.

He's suffering from the Deltha O'neal complex....He's looking for the pick so hard that he's ignoring the double move and biting on the comeback. He spends too much time looking in the backfield and not enought time locking down his receiver. If he realized that he only needs to pay attention to the guy he's covering he'll have more chances for picks because he'll be in better position.
