Default Prayers for Lamar Hunt!

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2695313

Lamar Hunt is very sick and I feel it is appropriate to celebrate great people "in life".

God bless Lamar and all of the great things he brought the AFL, NFL and the Denver Broncos franchise.

His family is praying for a miracle and so am I.

Unlike Al Davis, who was a pioneer, but a multi decade hated figure, Lamar exemplified class and leadership throughout his career.

I hope somehow, someway Lamar can pull out of this.

sorry to hear this .......... a lot of stories about Lamar , my favorite is when Lamar was in Denver , he said , this would make a great football town , and Lamar helped Denver get a team ............. Lamar was the heart and soul of the AFL , and in alot of respect the AFC............We will lose a great football legend , they didnt name the AFC championship trophy after him for nothing ...
Best wishes to the Hunt family .............

PS dont go thinking that I have respect for the chiefs though ............

This really sucks. I had hoped Lamar would one day get his own trophy.

This is pretty tough....

I think overall his vision of putting the league first was great. The anti Dan Snyder.

I don't think he has much longer. This is a person who has changed the lives of many people for the better and brought a lot to the city I love.

Lamar Hunt is the reason we are talking on Omane today and routing for all our teams. He was instrumental in the AFL and like others have said eventually in the AFC. My prayers are with him and his family.

When I was back home for the T-Giving they had a pretty cool thing on him on NFL Network. They were talking to some of the old AFL owners...

I believe it was the Jets owner who was saying that each time they had a meeting of the owners they thought it would be the last one...this is it...the league can't do this anymore. But sure enough Hunt would have a whole plan of action to present to keep everything going...

If beating the Broncos for Thanksgiving was like a farewell gift to Lamar Hunt, I can accept that. He's been a class act and, without him, cities like Kansas City and Denver might not even have NFL football today.

I wish the best for him and his family although the prognosis doesn't look good.

Lamar and Scarey Alice were two of the great men of the early AFL days.

During the press for the Thanksgiving game, I saw Bob Howsam quoted as saying there wouldn't be a Denver Broncos franchise if not for Lamar Hunt. Fans all over Denver and the entire league in general owe him a debt of gratitude.

It is best he just has the name. We owe alot of gratitude to Lamar Hunt.
Now I wonder if Mock has any disturbing words for the Hunt family or how he thinks he is "really" dying.

Lamar has been fighting for quite some time.

I wish him quality of life. If he can't have that, I pray for a peaceful comfortable passing. He can take comfort in knowing that he left the world a better place. Few men accomplish what he has and remain humble. I admire him.

Anyone who has the AFC conference trophy named after him speaks for itself.

I hate that incideous disease that literally sapps the life out bit by bit. It's like fighting a pitbull.

As noted, we are in all likelyhood not here talking without Lamar. May he pass in relative comfort. A true legend and hero in the renegade league that held on early by the skin of it's teeth.

Lamar Hunt is one of the biggest reasons that the AFC even exists today. Sad to hear of his condition.
