ESPNews reports the New England Patriots have released WR Doug Gabriel
Wow. With a WR core that horrible and that close to playoffs. He must have done something really bad. |

He was a faider you know. Sometimes that cannot leave a man. WHo will Brady throw to know. Cant wait for the media to put the Brady "Superman" feeling on this one. They still think they are shoe in to the SB every year.

He spilled his jerry curl oil in the locker room and ruined Brady's mink coat and Belichek's cut off sweat shirt so he had to be punished.

Maybe he is the guy who sold Miami the Audi tape of Brady play calling.

Kubes and Coyer said for the past couple years that they felt the Raiders Receiving corps was the best/deepest in football. Naturally, that included Porter and Moss... but Gabriel was a pretty big part of that when he was with the Raiders. I don't think we make a move for him b/c I think the coaches are pretty comfortable with Marshall and Kircus... but I also wouldn't be suprised if he was brought in to "compete" with the youngsters.

Curious with Ben Watson just getting injured. We might of given them something for him.
He must of pissed off the nazi at New England. We were talking about trading for him...now he will just get picked up by a loser. |

He's not a WR, he's a TE...unless you think teams have 257 pound WR's.

Was he even playing well for them?
They will still be a threat in the playoffs, always are. |

Maybe his ankle is hurt worse than let on and they didn't plan on re-signing him anyway, but Watson is hurt too. This is a team that could drop off the map IMO. |

Where's PatsWin?
This is weird. I thought he had been fairly productive. There must be a story, here. |

Back around the first quarter of the season Gabriel was doing pretty well up there but he's fallen off the map since then. What did the Pats trade to the Raiders for him? Maybe he decided he wanted to go back to the Raiders where you don't have to work to earn your pay.

He was doing fairly well early on. Not getting a bunch of balls thrown his way (imagine that with Brady spreading the ball around to 10 different people per game!) but making the most of his catches. Then he suffered a bit of the droppsies and really fell out of favor with both Brady and BB. He's a good player. Not sure where Mock gets this 257 lb thing from though? He's 6-2, 215#.

Mock... You're talking about the wrong guy dude. You're thinking of Daniel Graham. We're talking about Doug Gabriel.

I remember earlier in the season when it was said Gabriel was becoming Brady's favorite target and now this? Has to be more to the story.
