For those of you in Denver. Alfred Williams is going off on 950 KOA right now.
His points so far: 1) The West Coast offense is out-dated. 2) Denver's players are good enough to win (on offense and defense) 3) Coaches aren't putting players into positions to win (for example the LBs) 4) As good as Atwater was they would never have put him one on one with Gates 5) He suggested that if Payton can win in New Orleans, there is no reason that Denver can't win with its current roster. 6) Playing a rookie in this situation was a bad move by Shanahan 7) He thinks this team has a confidence problem, doesn't think they believe they can line up and beat anyone 8) They are not playing the way a Shanahan team normally plays and its frustrating 9) Denver screwed up not running the ball on 3rd and 2 yesterday |

I agree with much of that. I think the QB change was justified, and there is a confidence problem IMO.

Alfred Williams is, as always, doing all he can to take any responsibility off of the players themselves. That's been his schtick since 950 somehow decided that he and Scott Hayseed needed their own radio show.

I agree some with him. He is a radio personality now and he has to spin and say controversial stuff to stike conversation and draw listeners. Thats what talk radio is all about.

He is basically throwing the entire coaching staff under the bus, Shanahan included.
He says that good coaches make do with what talent they have. I fail to see how we haven't done that consdering the whole world laughed when we signed Plummer. And to suggest that the west coast offense is outdated? Ouch. I think he is a fan (like the rest of us) and just lashing out at that embarrassing loss. |

I agree with everything except starting Jay Cutler. That move has proven to be the best in a desperate situation to begin with. We will still win the next 3 games though. We will make the playoffs and we will go to the super bow. As long as I am a Bronco fan (the rest of my life) I will always believe this. I learned this by watching the Broncos. Anything is possible. I have seen the greatest comebacks and the greatest miracles.

I saw blitizing late, didn't seem to help. Agree, why was Fox on Gates? The New Orleans argument is so idiotic it's comical. They have three potential probowlers on offense alone dimwit, Deuce, Brees and Bush. He can have his opinion on starting Jay. The rest are just idiotic. |

Alfred and Joe Williams make me not want to listen to 950 in the afternoons. They don't listen to logic. Alfred is not that bright to begin with, he actually makes Scott sound smart. He went to CU, that should tell you all you need to know.

His points so far:
1) The West Coast offense is out-dated. Not true, there are lots of veriations, plus Shanny's offense is not pure west cost. 2) Denver's players are good enough to win (on offense and defense) DLine 3) Coaches aren't putting players into positions to win (for example the LBs) 4) As good as Atwater was they would never have put him one on one with Gates 5) He suggested that if Payton can win in New Orleans, there is no reason that Denver can't win with its current roster.

His points so far:
1) The West Coast offense is out-dated. Not true, there are lots of veriations, plus Shanny's offense is not pure west cost. 2) Denver's players are good enough to win (on offense and defense) DLine is awefull, no pass rush, secondary is suspect especially with injuries. OLine is suspect, again with injuries, which alfred conveniently forgets 3) Coaches aren't putting players into positions to win (for example the LBs) Some calls are weak, but DWilliams is simply not making plays nor is the DLine. Can't simply blame coaches 4) As good as Atwater was they would never have put him one on one with Gates Atwater was never a speed cover saftey, so that argument is irrelevant 5) He suggested that if Payton can win in New Orleans, there is no reason that Denver can't win with its current roster. Better QB, and far more offensive weapons (Horn, Colson, Duece, Bush etc...) plus they play in NFC 6) Playing a rookie in this situation was a bad move by Shanahan Not winning with Jake, so change had to be made even if this season is lost 7) He thinks this team has a confidence problem, doesn't think they believe they can line up and beat anyone Not sure about this one, could be a possibility 8) They are not playing the way a Shanahan team normally plays and its frustrating What is a Shanahan team? other than the Elway era, Shanahan's teams have been above average, but nothing spectacular which is exactlywhat this team is, so I say they are playing like a Shanahan team 9) Denver screwed up not running the ball on 3rd and 2 yesterday Agreed, if you are going for it on 4th, you should run the ball on 3rd and short. |

I completely agree that our Offense was outdated with Jake at QB.
We didn't "Waggle Boot" once yesterday so it is obvious we are trying some new stuff with Jay. Even though we got crushed, it was great to see balls thrown to the Intermediate middle. I got so sick of "1st Dwn Stretch Run, 2nd down Slant Throw, 3rd Down Waggle Boot". Everyone has been waiting for it. It was outdated folks. Anyone who doesn't think we needed a new set of plays/reads is foolish. |

We just need to win some games. I can't remember who said it, but there's a quote about it. "Winning is like deodorant: it hides a lot of stink." When you lose, suddenly fans think everything to coaching staff did was terrible and the players all suck. Just as stupid is the notion that if you win everything the staff did was perfect and the players are all the best in the league.

Alfred Williams says were getting better production off of the d-line this year. Says we need another defensive tackle. Said we need to replicate the Jumpy Geathers/MDP combo that we had before. So when pressed, he'll say that it's a problem with the talent. He didn't name names though.
I agree with him though. Warren needs a partner in crime. |

Yea, I'm looking at his list and can't find much fault with it.
Interesting that one of our recent and best defensive players thinks our current defensive players aren't being used properly. |

Nick Ferguson defending the defensive playcalling. Now he's complaining about the league rules, saying they legislated the Bump and Run out of the game.
