Default O'Neal DWI

Bengals' O'Neal arrested
CB charged with DWI
BY MARK CURNUTTE | ENQUIRER STAFF WRITER
Bengals cornerback Deltha O’Neal, 29, was charged with DUI at 12:20 this morning in Clermont County.

O’Neal’s was one of 531 vehicles passing through an Ohio Highway Patrol checkpoint near Bach Buxton Road in Pierce Township on State Highway 125.
Four drivers, including O’Neal, were charged with Operating a Vehicle under the Influence. The checkpoint was setup from 11:30 p.m. Friday through 2 a.m. today.

O’Neal becomes the eighth Bengals player arrested or charged with DUI this calendar year.

An officer at the checkpoint detected the odor of alcohol on O’Neal and directed him to a holding area. There, O’Neal was put through a series of field sobriety tests and offered a breath test.

He registered a blood-alcohol level of 0.10, above Ohio's legal limit of 0.08, said Sgt. Kevin Long of the Ohio High Patrol. O'Neal was alone in his car and arrested at the scene.

O’Neal is scheduled to appear Tuesday in Clermont County Municipal Court.
O’Neal has 33 tackles and one interception this season. A shoulder injury has prevented him from playing in the past three games.

He made his second Pro Bowl after the 2005 season when he tied for the NFL lead with 10 interceptions.

As is club policy, the Bengals do not comment on player arrests until they are resolved in the legal system.

Bengals wide receiver Reggie McNeal was arrested Sunday morning outside a Houston nightclub and charged with resisting arrest.

Notice the BEST QB in the last year draft was also arrested. Lack of control on that team

If he blew a .10, his lawyer might get the charge reduced.

"An officer at the checkpoint detected the odor of alcohol on O’Neal and directed him to a holding area."

I got a tip a few months back on how to get rid of the alcohol smell (I have never had to use this tip, because I don't drink and drive). The guy told me that after you drink, suck on an apple lollipop, and he busted the lollipop out, like he carries the thing around just in case. I kind of believe him, seeing that he later told me that he was a dope dealer.

The story gets funnier. This guy ended up being my roommate on a road trip. I was covering a high school team, and they went to Utah for a game. All I heard was road trip and I was in. After the team checks in to the hotel I'm going to get a room. A team mom was kind of linking up the adults so we could split the cost on a room. Me and this guy, the dope dealer, ended up being roommates. We get to talking the first day, and everything is cool. He looks like a normal guy, well, outside of the gold chains. The second day he was like "I'm gonna be real, I sell dope." Then he got into story time. It was too damn funny. After the game my best shot was of his son taking a fumble back 95 yards for a TD. I told him that I'd probably use that shot for the paper. When we get back to LA, and are getting off the bus, he told me "I'll be looking for that paper on Thursday", like if his son's shot isn't in there he'll be looking for me. I saw his son a little while later, hanging out with another player. We get to talking, and I said that I'd probably use his shot for the paper. Jokingly I said that if I didn't his pops would probably be looking for me. He and his friend started laughing...because they knew it was true.

So did you use the shot? Or can I assume you did because you are posting this?

Default Deltha Arrested for DWI

Bengals CB Deltha O'Neal was charged with driving while intoxicated Friday night. Police officers were operating a DUI checkpoint in Pierce Township, Clermont County when they arrested O'Neal. The Ohio Highway Patrol said O'Neal was alone in his vehicle when he stopped at the checkpoint around 12:30 a.m. Troopers say O'Neal was released on his own recognizance. He's scheduled to appear in Clermont County court on December 12. O'Neal was the 8th Bengals player arrested this year.

You can argue till your blue in the face on the constitutionality of illeagal searches, but alot of good it will do you. The courts threw the probable cause wrench in it despite the fact someone is driving the speed limit and obeying laws.

The days of driving late at night on a friday night leaving a club are long gone for me. It's basically suicide. they just camp outside the club and rake in thousands and the lawyers, insurance companies love it.

I'm not condoning it, but at closing time at a nightclub, a full 50 percent are fairly tanked up IMO.

What amazes me most is that players that make millions still don't just call a taxi and have them driven home, and ask for a second person to pick up their car either then or in the morning. Clubs don't even blink if a car is left overnight. I never drink and drive...I can't say I haven't, but those days are over.

Random check point... not like the guy actually did something to justify being pulled over. As much as I hate drunk drivers (because I wind up taking care of them a 3AM after they wreck), the random stops are unconstitutional. What happens to the local cop who's had a few and rolls up to a random checkpoint?
