Default Almost lost Elam... Maybe for good.

Wow. Taking another look at the hit he took after his slide. I can't figure out why the refs would allow a defense to hit a player like this after a slide. It could have definitely been avoided.

He didn't slide feet forward, and he isn't a QB.

He's driving his shoulder into his knee. Elam is lucky he didn't tear an ACL.

It didn't look that bad. He touched him down and rolled onto his feet. The guy wasn't trying to kill him.

It was close, but I don't think he meant to hurt Elam. I can't appreciate it very well from that GIF, but it doesn't look too bad, IMO.

I see what Taco is talking about, I don't see a major problem. Watch the very end of the clip.

In my opinion, it was clean all the way.

Of course, it had the potential to be a terrible injury, but it was not dirty.

At the speed the defender was going, by the time Elam was on the ground he couldn't have stopped himself in midair and not fell where he was heading for. Didn't look intentional at all.

Aren't QB's the only guys who you can't hit when sliding, anyway? Didn't know that rule applied to other offensive positions.

The injury happened when he got scraped down his let before the tacklle...You people amaze me.

He was injured on the run, not the tackle.

Buy a vowel.

Yeah it looks like he landed on his calf below his knee and just rolled off of him, I don't even think Elam's right leg touched the ground looks like his legs just came together. He hurt his left leg anyway.

Elam is pretty fragile, a 5 yard run and he pulls his hammy without being touched. I know he's a kicker but sheesh!

I thought Cutler took a harder shot to his knee, I can't remember what play it was on but he took a Carson Palmer shot on one play, he droped back and threw the ball and the Seahawk came in low it looked like Jay was gonna hyperextend his knee but he just fell down...The season flashed before my eyes as I had a vision of Plummer trotting back onto the field...

I love Elam but if he runs with the ball he's fair game. It's Shanahan's goof here more than Elam taking a hit. BTW, Elam looks Chubby and out of shape, my Mom runs faster than he does.

That's right .... plus they mightta been gun-shy after they flagged Tatupu on a ticky-tack hit on Cutler.

Word is that Elam punched a Bronco in the kidney during a kick off leaving a real nasty red mark. I understand he also stood up a date.
