Default Please be educated fans about this year and situation

I think as many of you know - at least the educated fans - this year was going to be a wasted year from the beginning with Jake at the healm. Jake was not taking this team to championship - would we have had a better chance at making the playoffs - maybe so. However, as true orange and blue fans how fulfilling is it to make the playoffs and then get worked over by another team. I think we have a lot to be excited about - more so than most teams. Look at what we are building - YOUNG - exciting offense that will take a bit to develop and gel together (Walker, Marshall, Cutler, Scheffler). Let's remain upbeat about the remainder of the year and hopefully watch Jay grow as a player. These remaining games -win or lose - are more beneficial than we may ever know - ultimately knocking off the rust for Jay and allowing him to gain invaluable experience. Just say he would not have started until the beginning of next year - we would have lived with rookie mistakes the first half of the year anyway; not saying that he's going to be perfect next year. As Mr. Elway noted, it takes time to develop as a pro QB, sometimes 2-3 years. Cutler has the tools, he showed some flashes in his first game; let's ride the year out and get excited about the future of this franchise. We are going to have a 4-5 year window with the youth on this team to develop something special - capable of winning a championship.

There are a lot of die hard Jake supporters who are going to put you down for your post. Just keep your head held high. You've got the right idea.

/probably didn't need a new thread though... there are plenty of threads out there that have this same concept going.

Shut the **** up. When did NOT MAKING THE PLAYOFFS become better than MAKING THE PLAYOFFS? Geez louise, I hate idiots.

Blah, blah blah...If we had Jake at QB we would lose in the playoffs anyway so we might as well start Cutler and not make the playoffs...blah blah blah

Stupid mother****ers. I can't remember the last time as a Bronco fan everyone was so ****ing hoody dandy about not making the playoffs. Everybody doesn't give a damn about it now because they can watch their favorite little binky throw a freaking pass. Stupidity.

Making the playoffs is always better , but sometimes you have to crawl after you walk ........ I think in all of our hearts we knew Jake could get us to the playoffs , but not much futher , in fact it would be fair to say 1 and done ...
i think everyone here knows it isnt all Jakes fault , but I do blame the lack of effort in the KC game on Jake ...........
make no mistake about it , putting cutler in is the same as mailing i nthis season , Cutler is not the savior this year , but next year Cutler is just that far ahead of the game , fix a few holes here and there , and this Team is a serious threat to go all the way ...........were as finishing with jake means we face all the rookie mistakes next year ..........

You know what, they should make the playoffs only two teams from each conference. It is quite apparent that being the third seed or lower is of no use for a fanbase.

This year, the playoffs should be Indy and San Diego from the AFC (because really, no one has a chance of beating those teams, right?) and the same for Chicago and Dallas in the NFC. Really, the rest of the teams are going to lose so it doesn't even matter. Why even ****ing show up. Just like last season, Indy was the most dominant team and New England was coming off a Super Bowl. The rest of the field did not a have a chance. Oh wait, Pittsburgh at 10-6 won the whole damn thing.

'I don't care about the playoffs, I just want to see binky Cutler throw the ball. yeaaaa! i'm happy. season not lost, season fun. Cutler throw ball hard. he has strong arm. i so happy.'

Yes that is what I am talking about! Plus I still think we can make the playoffs.

How can we think it was going to be a wasted year when we were coming off an AFC Championship game?

I guess my biggest problem is I want to win now, this season. And this time next year, chances are I'll be in Iraq.

The team was healthy last season. This year, injuries abound.

Denver is still in the playoff hunt. It's not over yet.

I see what you are saying Spider, but at 7-4 and tied for the 1st Wild Card spot, it is not the freaking time to experiment with the QB position. It was quite obvious the team (from offense to defense) had Plummer's back. Rod Smith went as far as to say that any fan clamoring for Cutler was an "idiot." Gerrad Warren said everybody rolls with Jake because he is our leader and they knew they could count on him.

If this team was 4-7, hell yes, make the move. Get the kid some experience. But at 7-4 and you swith to a rookie QB while you are already in the playoffs (at that point)? No one in the history of the ****ing NFL has ever done that so late in the season. What a ****ing blunder by Shanahan. He caved in to the idiots.

Gonzo, curious as to why you are so bitter towards Cutler. Furthermore, please do not tell me you sincerely believe, hopefully as an educated NFL football fan, that this team was going to win a championship with Jake behind center. You have no reason to be down on Cutler - Let's see where his career ends up in 4 full years with Denver as compared to Jake who had four full years in Denver (even exempting the fact that Jake had many years under his belt prior to becoming a Bronco.)

you know with any other QB including griese you are dead on , but in my opinion I saw jake give up in K.C. , add to it all the other problems , lack of pass rush , poor special teams spotty play by our oline , we cant fix all these problams now , bt we can do somthing about QB , at least at the end of this year we know what we have @ QB .....1 less problem to adress .....

I agree 100% anyone who (and its their right to be wrong ) thought we were heading to the playoffs and were going to do some damage once we got there has the right to flat out hate this move.

I on the other hand (being correct like always) no longer thought we were even going to make the playoffs with Jake. Im happy we stopped wasting time on him and are moving forward.

I still want to make the playoffs and we still just might. Either way I'll cheer for the good guys every Sunday regardless of who the QB is.
