Verizon Phone Suggestions? - The Orange Mane

Hello all,

My folks just switched to Verizon, and they got me a Motorola RAZR V3m. It's pretty neat and slim and all that, but I've heard some people say the RAZRs suck, as do Motorola phones in general. Some websites have given the phones good reviews, but I'm looking for real people's takes.

For me, my top priority is phone service. Can I hear, and can they hear me. Next is size. Lastly is texting, because I use that feature a good amount. Pretty much everything after that is gravy. Picture taking, mp3 capability, etc, don't care much for. I mean, I'd love to be able to take an MP3 off my computer and make it my ringtone, but that's frivolous, and not make-or-break by any means.

So, anybody got any Verizon suggestions?

I dont like Razrs for the fact that ive seen sooo many people break them. Since their on hinges they just snap off.

If i was given one, i wouldnt complain tho

Usually with an antenna you get better service too.

I have one of those flip-out ones from LG because it stroes MP3's. It's a very good phone, but every since Verizon merged with AT&T or whoever their service has gone to crap. I seriously think they're rolling back their cell sites in effort to save money and the number of dropped calls I have are increasing. It really sucks.

I have a Treo 650. Basically a palm pilot phone. Its expensive but I love it. It has a QWERTY keyboard and has a great speaker. I got mine off Ebay broken and rebuilt it. I got all the parts on ebay and paid half the price.

I actually want to invest in a Treo/Blackberry/Whatever at some point when I enter the job world after grad school.

Anywho, I ended up going with the LG VX8300 phone. I'm enjoying it, but I need to buy some cables to get music and stuff on it for my wallpaper, ring tone, etc.
