I'm telling you guys, you are going to see a different Bronco team the rest of the way. No one is going to want to play us come playoff time.

Shanahan and Cutler both said that they had one of the best practices this season today. Sounds like this was overdue.

It's all about the "spark" that Cutler provides. He might not light it up this year, but I think he'll be more consistent than Young and Leinart.

Cutler said that there was a team meeting before practice and what changes needed to occur was discussed. My guess is that it was pretty fresh in the players minds that there would be no more bussiness as usual tolerated. My impression is that it was more than just a new QB.

Jay is so low key in his interview.

I love it! Kid has won me over for sure. Not some punk pretty boy at all.

Such a quiet confidence. You can tell he's just ready to blow up. There is no arrogance about him. This kid is gonna special.

Sort of a realistic Brady type. No arrogance, but some quiet confidence....

I really hope he does well Sunday. Just get off on the right foot. Win or lose, if he plays pretty well, that changes the dynamics of the team and the games to come.

I think shanahan has lost his freaking mind. The rook is going to see so many different looks... I don't see how this is going to help at this point. I think Cutler is good, but he's a rookie.

He was obviously rattled under questioning...

NOT. Jay looks extremely confident he can manage the offense.

Shanahan didn't look like he was sweating bullets either...more like an albatros was off his head.

You just don't know, but let's give the kid time. He didn't blink from what I could see.

Silly hat it was hard to see his eye, but he didn't seem intimindated at the least.

I'm certainly aware of the problems on my team, however this is about the donks! They don't have to look scared or be scared... cutler has a hell of an arm and good abilities but that doesn't equate to knowledge in the NFL.

Hell if you take a pilot with good hand eye coordination and send him to war... He's nothing but a pilot with good stick and rudder... He aint nothing til he learns how to read the radars and displays!!!

Well since all three of those QB's have had that opportunity and failed, you can STFU.

IMHO... ratboy is packing in the season by making this move... put in the rookie during crunch time. As tight as the race is for the playoffs 1 loss can blow it for the donks!

Not at all , I agree Cutler is going to see some stuff , that he never dreamed of ...But it is all about how he reacts , Shanny Been around a few HOF qb's in his days , if Shanny thinks Cutler is ready , then we realy cant question him ...............

Seeing how some of these young Qb's and Rookies have performed with subpar teams this year i like Jay's chances. Jay is surrounded by a better team than most of them so even though he will struggle at times he will also make a lot of plays that Jake failed to do.

What is it that you guys don't get? Sure Jay will see some defenses that confuse him but they obviously confused Plummer as well. Mike isn't saying Jay will look like Petyon this year, he's just saying that he can do no worse then Plummer has to this point. He's the future so might as well get on with it. Jay's arm will at least serve the team better on some of the deep go routes and deep posts. Not to mention he has a much more accurate arm. I believe Shanny can keep a simple offense and Cutler's arm should be an advantage over what we've had.

It's not surprising since he plays QB and not WR.

Cutler is the QB that AL Davis stays awake thinking about.
Mobile, accurate, BIG arm, intelligent and gutsy.
The fact that the Raiders passed on him in the draft, says a lot about how screwed up
the Raiders organization has become. It doesn't matter when Cutler starts,
it will be his first NFL game and he will have a learning curve.
Starting him next week is all about how Plummer has played, and I'm betting
that Shanahan knows a lot more about QBs than you will ever know.
So if you have a point, other than being obvious, go ahead and make it.

BTW, your pilot analogy makes even less sense. 'Radar and displays' can be
taught on the ground, and when a pilot is accumulating flying time, long before going into harm's way.
There is no substitute for experience.

I just love how everyone "assumes" that Jay is going to be a star in the NFL. I'll hold my judgement until I see him play...What I also got from Shanahan's interview "Jay will be the starter against Seattle"...gee, what happens if Jay totally sucks it up...Shanahan didn't say he would start the rest of the year now did he.
