We'll see if New Line lives to regret it. Whoever takes over might make a compelling story, but it won't have the same feel...

What a crock man. I'm a big Tolkien fan and was looking forward to it. Now F it dude. They will see thier error and Alla willing if they ever do the Silmarillion they will have better sense

This is nothing but a positioning move.. In the end he'll make it, they're just starting the marketing campaign early.

never read the Hobbit , but I guess it has somthing to do with the LOTR series ?

It was actually kind of a kid's story that Tolkein wrote - and then everything else sprang from it.

The Hobbit is one of my favorites.

It's about the life of Bilbo Baggins ( Frodo's uncle ) when he was younger and all his adventures, Spider.

This really is a shame if they don't do it!
