Default Pass the time: Pick a position...

O.K.. we've got a damned week to wait, which is going to seem like a year.

Let's kill a little football time, here.

So, we've all agreed that the QB position is getting a workover.

What's next? There's been a lot of talk about other areas of the team suffering.

If you're the owner of this team (not the GM, because coaches are fair game).... what is the ONE position you go after NEXT to improve this team going forward, and why.

Got someone in mind as a replacement? Even more interesting... let's hear it.... poll to follow

I've included most positions talked about around here, and a few where maybe guys are aging or replacements could be someone's choice.

Toss up, Oline or Dline. Take your pick.

That's no talk for an owner. Step up and improve your franchise.

Oline then. You can probably get away with a top 15 defense but in order to have the offense run smoothly you have to have good blocking. Oline.

Right Tackle to be specific.

What don't you like about Bowlen? Would you prefer Bidwel or Ford?
Or did I misunderstand you?

Trade our first this and next year (it's not like we use them) and Plummer to Panthers for Julius Peppers.

Of course I know this is a pipe dream.

Peppers is good but not worth 2 first rounders.

Effective pass rushing DE and a DT to compliment Warren. Get rid of Courtney Brown and Jake to free up some $. Maybe go after Javon Kearse or better yet Simion Rice. Then draft a franchise RB like Micheal Bush. We also need to address both safety positions in the draft.

2 very low first rounders............in my eyes he is.

D Tackle... a stud DT is easier to find than a DE... and D Line is the most glaring weakness. I'd go with a ballhawking safety next.

As someone pointed out to me in the last draft, rookie DT are the mostly likely to be bust or not show up in thier 1st season in the NFL. It lot easier to find a speed pass rusher to come on select downs to go after the QB. I finally really saw the kid from Nebraska play yesterday and he has the size and speed to 3 down end. Since were don't have chance at Gaines (Clemson) or Moses (Georgia), then he worth a look in thr first. Then turn to Mike Johnson out of Arizonia (#2 safety on Mel's big Board) in the second.

Gotta get a pass rush. I went with defensive end. Dumervil has some potential, but he's little for an end so there's no telling how long he'll hold up.

I seriously doubt Quentin Moses will be a first round pick.

Can we put "change defense to 3-4" on the poll? I'd vote for that.

I picked Punter/Returner because those positions are killing us this season.

Our Punter makes our average defense look even worse.

Our Returner makes our below average offense look embarassingly bad.

Right now, he the guy ranked behind Adams on all the draft boards. He a little undersized at 245, but does know how to get after the passer and has the size to put more weight on

It still early to see how it plays out.

Stud RDE. Been calling for it for nearly 3 years. Then RCB. But NOT through the draft. We can't draft DBs for SH*T.

Special teams have been horrendous this year. Let's get a coach who can change up the schemes to fix that problem. Our defense is already on their heels if the opponents are allowed to start at the 30 or 40-yard line every time...
